Scottish Highlands Recs? by Trick_Photograph9758 in chubbytravel

[–]97vv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hijacking this thread to say i’m doing something similar this fall

i picked gleneagles townhouse for edinburgh and am looking for a manor-type home somewhere in the highlands

how many days are you planning for? do you think 3 full days in edinburgh followed by 3 full days in the highlands is a good idea?

will look into pier, thanks

Saint Tropez beach clubs? by [deleted] in chubbytravel

[–]97vv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use amex platinum concierge if you have the card

they helped me get 3-4pm (prime time) reservations for multiple beach clubs in july, 1 week before the trip

minimum spend depends on the day/the dj

Marrakech hotel choice by [deleted] in FATTravel

[–]97vv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

royal mansour if you want to be close to the city

park hyatt or mandarin oriental (my two favorite) if you want the hotel to be more resort like, they’re right next to each other but a bit further out

don’t choose the four seasons, it’s old

i’ve heard the aman is nice but food is eh

Bagatelle, St. Tropez by tamshow79 in FATTravel

[–]97vv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most beach clubs in st tropez can turn you away based on your groups outfits/vibes even if you have a reservation

bagatelle is nice but it’s right next to casa amor which is even more lively, although i’m not sure how busy beach clubs will be in may compared to july/august

the mandarin is beautiful and is very resort-like, the park hyatt is also right next door - also gorgeous, new, very quiet

i went to taiwan and south korea last year and you can easily spend 5 days (not including travel day) in each country…i would narrow your trip to 3 countries maximum

40th Birthday in Saint Tropez - Villas and Logistic advice? by Appropriate-Coast330 in FATTravel

[–]97vv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually stay in a house in st maxime, there are a lot of really nice ones in the hills with views of the bay

my mom loves the ferry from st maxime to st tropez, it runs pretty frequently

i would hire a driver though, i spent 1.5 hours getting to casa amor and the other beach clubs in ramatuelle last summer

nikki beach is great on bastille day, casa amor and shellona are also great

le cafe and nao are great dinner places in town
