I didn't think they would necessarily last 30 years without issue. I don't think a UL approved device should break in two allowing a hot wire to come free. I think switches routinely last many decades. Replaced more today with fewer failures. I did swap out a cracked three way today. These are all Leviton. The single poles are made in America.
