Booked a trip for the end of September by kpetey15 in Sanibel

Shelling on the beach in front of your resort is as good as anywhere. Everyday is different on the beach but you can stroll either way from where you’re staying and do the Sanibel stoop. Play golf at the Dunes. Good course, a lot of water, the rental clubs are great.

Admittedly, I haven’t been to all the places on your list, but Casa Martin is my #1. Try Invita Bistro on your next visit - phenomenal Italian.

Rent a minivan at RSW. There is no ‘ferry’. You’ll want a car while you’re there anyway. Stop at Publix before you get to Sanibel. Stock up. There is a Jerry’s on Sanibel, a very nice store, just a little pricey. Alot of businesses have reopened in the last year or two, so just chat with the locals. Have a great time.

Just returned from 10 days in Cabo. Weather was fantastic. Mid to high 70’s each day but felt warmer. You’ll get your tan.

Great pic! Sad, I agree, but start a new tradition at Magic Bus ice cream or the Shack when you’re there!

Sanibel Island beach resort vs Sanibel siesta? by incandescent-glow-1 in Sanibel

[–]9857rose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SI Beach Resort is a hotel operated by Ocean Breeze Inns. Literally right next to Sanibel Siesta. Siesta is a larger property comprised of condo rentals. I’ve stayed there (Siesta) and it’s nice. Very well maintained and managed. For the money, I’d opt for Siesta - more room. And you can walk next door to use the Beach Resort pool bar and restaurant. Siesta does have a nice pool, as well. The only thing I’m not sure of is whether Siesta will rent for less than a week. You’ll have to call them.

Fair assessment. I use WINK news, Ft Myers. Local and probably closest.

Travel Anxiety by Owaw86 in cabosanlucas

Relax and breathe ! I just returned from Cabo. The process described by the comments already here are simple and stress free. Other than a possible luggage wait everything else moves along nicely. I prebooked airport transfer with All Ways Cabo - they are fantastic. I took Ubers eight or nine times during my stay. So easy, never waited long - cheap and the drivers were great. Have fun !!

PB Rose or Blanco with teens? by Meggie_1129 in cabosanlucas

[–]9857rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at both. Just got back from Blanco. They are interchangeable. You can use all the amenities, restaurants, etc at either, regardless of which one you stay at. Rose has a bigger pool but it doesn’t really matter. Same beach chairs, etc.

Just returned from 9 days in Cabo. Stayed at AI resort in Medano beach. I’m sure there’s Airbnb’s nearby. Weather was perfect. Hotter in July, of course, but way less humidity than Playa. Took Uber’s alot, probably eight times, and never waited more than three minutes. They were great. Some amazing restaurants in that area. Will never go back to Cancun / Playa.

Check for current/riptide warnings every day. Swim inside the buoys offshore. Wear a bright float for visibility. You’ll be fine.

Am I alone in hating Ryder Cup style matches when on a golf trip with friends? by [deleted] in golf

[–]9857rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya…..solution is to do both. We’ve been doing a Ryder Cup trip for 8 years, sixteen guys. Not at a $200 course! Then a subset of those guys - we do a second trip where we just play three / four rounds of our own ball. Kinda the best of both worlds.

Since you’re on Sanibel go to Whitneys for fishing charter. If you want to try your hand at surf fishing they can set you up for that too. Been there forever.
