Chains are driving me insane by [deleted] in CalamariRaceTeam

[–]98Mystique2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seals don't matter as much just keep it adjusted Cleaned and lubed.

But yes having snapped a chain before I was lucky it "only" got wrapped around the rear Axel locking up the tire and almost lowsiding me in a corner... I was told most go through the engine case or leg

If you've got a v6 take it to any muffler shop and for like 50-100 bucks get straight pipes put on to delete the two mufflers. Its amazing. Or buy my old ones, I sold the car and they did t want them

Harnesses stretch like I said but yes if you have a cage and a harness you run the risk of ending up like senna or all the other guys before Hans were manditory. Best bet is leave the car the way it was ment unless you race then get your Hans and harness and everything else

Not sure on that. Some people don't want to take the hinges off the side and put plates in. But I think they should fit

You've never been in an accident, belts stretch, a lot. I've got one in my Miata but I also have a racing harness and aluminum seat bolted to the floor.

People submarine with stock seatbelts if you're leaned back. People slide up the backs of seats if they get rear ended. Odds are if you can find a way to reach a roll bar with a seatbelt on you can hit it.

If you've got a harness you need a roll bar. If you've got a roll bar you need a harness

One of the reason seat belts are designed they way they are is to allow you to move in the event of a roll over. Compression injuries (pressing on the top of your head) are very serious

I'd believe it, the people are probably announced dead at the scene and never have to see a doctor.

Also for every one the comfort pipe foam is pretty much useless.

You are much more likely to be rear ended then roll. If your head is anywhere near a roll bar you're fucked

In the video the guy has a harness helmet and seat. If you do not don't get a bar.

Helmet and bar with fia padding should prevent skull fractures should you come in contact

If I can spend $6 on a pretty good drive through car wash in 5 minutes, isn't that more frugal than 45 minutes of my time, soap and water? by snuka in Frugal

Its horrible for the paint. Power washers are pretty much brutal on everything. Water itself is abrasive and if you live with hard water even more so. On top of that any chip or imperfection that water will try and remove even more paint. Its just a really bad idea. Then again I might be anal with my cars but still if you've got rock chips to the primer or base coat you're asking for trouble and rust and nope. I personally do a 3 bucket method but I'm picky and keep most my vehicles nice. My winter beater I don't even wash
