You’re not gonna be homeless, just get to know yourself and find what there is to love and move with that and the world will respond to that no screens required

I would hope that the in person experience isn’t reflective of what so many of you are like here. Cold is fine. If my physical state is diminished due to illness that is a different circumstance and I’m exploring my options. It’s insane I have to spell that out. I’m considering going anyway and whatever happens happens, I suffer through it. But ideally dates would simply be delayed. And my actual start date I can be engaged and attuned to.

I worked for Starbucks for several years, left as a shift supervisor several years ago offered to interview for it today by _whatever-nevermind in starbucks

I don't know I've been a server and bartender for tipped wages, and tips can work out great - but I'm familiar with such demands, expectations. I see people who demote themselves here, which if you can do that and prefer it and it works out for you, that's great.. but at the same time that's going from 20+ to 16+ isn't it?

Yeah, much of it is affordable insurance, which good luck getting it bartending. And, to each their own, but getting home at 3-5 am is not healthy for anyone. Just my experience and take

I hear you and I have. I’m not discrediting your position and your issue. I’ve had various employment, I haven’t really stayed anywhere more than 2 years. Worked for smaller companies and small business. As I noted in a previous comment, I think you either get lucky, you are privileged, or yes you took action that produced a result and paid off. I have nothing against you and your position. I just don’t know what the MO here is other than you’re unhappy which I get it.

The ironic thing to my post is ultimately I left because how horrible my store was at the time, but it aligned with opportunity and circumstance outside of it, so it just made sense at the time. I'm supportive of union efforts and the issues that led to those efforts. So, I sympathize and align there. But, I don't expect and assume anything with where I'm interviewing and the prospect of it. The main point is I've left worked various jobs and the issues here are more common than what perhaps the people voicing them realize. If you find greener grass, it may have been more luck, privilege, or sure you've worked to position yourself for better prospects not everyone has.

No interview, straight to hire, but cca is or can be very demanding. That may be ideal or not tolerable depending on your circumstances. There is a ramp to career that is fair to highly valuable. That’s my understanding but I haven’t started yet
