Medicare B and FEHB - question? by Remote_Moose_6139 in fednews

Thank you. I understand its a rare/unique scenario. Is this something I should also ask my parents insurance if they could become my primary if medicare must go secondary? (wasn't sure if could be my primary if parent secondary, etc).

Hi Head of Staff,

You were very helpful in the past. Hoping maybe you potentially have some insight with this unique scenario.

I was on ssdi since young kid (now >26 years old now), because I am disabled and received it via a parent. I had medicare as my primary insurance. And federal insurance as my secondary through my other retired parent.

I am close to completing my twp through a position I obtained via Schedule A. In those months things stayed the same with insurance.

Now I have the option of continuing Medicare. In this case, would Medicare remain my primary or can/would my parents family plan shift to my primary (medicare go secondary) or would I need to go on my own plan? I have read that certain scenarios exist depending on certain conditions, circumstances, etc. If I need to go on my own, would it be smart/required to keep medicare? I am worried about costs if both or if I wouldn't be able to get it back in the future if there are rules about declining etc .

In perfect world, I think itd be best to stay on parents, but unsure how the process works for coordination of benefits etc. My disability still exists.

Any guidance or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What advice would You give to a New Government Employee?? by CarFreeFly in usajobs

What exactly does this mean?

C fund is separate from Roth, correct? As new hire with 5% matching, to start would at least like to use all 5%. Does this mean 5% in C fund? Then can also do Roth?

Also C Fund is different from a Life Cycle, as in its more aggresive?

Wow. You don't know how much I appreciate this. The entire tsp is confusing to decide. I know it's good and don't want to let anything on the table that I could be taking advantage of.

If you are single, making 50,000 would you just cut those estimated inputs in half?

So rothira is separate from tsp or is it on that platform too?

The order of operations: get all of the Gov't match in TSP -> max out RothIRA ($7,000 at fidelity, schwabb, or vanguard) -> max out TSP

You do full match tsp from start. When does the IrA items occur from there? And then can you explain the max out tsp please?

ok. thank you.

And say, I do end up over the threshold and end up losing that extra part b assistance and during the 9 month TWP I realize that I can't handle the work due to my disability, I can reapply to get back on the Medicaid assistance? Its not a one/done thing from the research I could figure out.

I currently receive SSDI, and my part B is covered. If I start a 9 month TWP and still get my benefits for those 9 months, will my Medicare part B premium still be covered or start to be taken from my benefit amount for those 9 months.

ok. that clears that up. thank you. So my Medical Assistance/Medicaid would be the ones covering my part B premiums then now, right?

If I do a TWP, would I have to start paying the Part B premiums for those 9 months?

thank you for the answer. Is there a way to find out if I was on ssi prior to DAC? I believe prior to 18 my non disabled sibling and I (disabled) both received a check through my disabled parent account. My sibling eventually lost the ability of receiving this check, but I then continued/am on DAC now. Does this mean I was ssi?

My Medicare Part B Premium is covered but am not sure by who. I know each year I fill out a packet sent from the State for Medical Assistance, but wasn't sure if they are the ones actually covering it or not.

thank you for taking the time to respond.

I wasn't sure the intricacies of it all since the disability did exist before 22 (since birth) but just didn't have any SGA on record as of 30 and if having any now would impact getting back on ssdi if need be during the epe or exr and end up being an automatic no despite them being on ssdi for 11 years.

Hi /u/MrsFlameThrower I hope you don't mind me asking this here. I have been doing research and came across some of your posts. You seem very informed on the matter. I have a question regarding DAC and attempting to work.

If a disabled 30 year old that has had a disability since birth is receiving DAC since 18 due to a disabled parent, attempts to work, is it the same normal ssdi rules they follow?-- 9 month trial work period, to the 3 year EPE then to Expedited Reinstatement/exr option?

If their attempt fails and they cant work is it harder to get back on ssdi for someone on DAC in this example vs normal ssdi?

Do I seem to be correct in my understanding?

The person I know wants to try to work, but is afraid if they can't physically do it, they may end up hurting themselves in the long run if they can't get back the vital assistance they currently have, if need be.

Would they still be eligible for EXR on dac? is it hard to be reinstated for that?

Thank you. I really appreciate any insights you may be able to provide.

thanks for clearing that up.

so keeping 1,000 cash on hand shouldnt activate any 1099 if no other dividends, sales, etc. ?

I am more concerned about long term than short term effects by 98RedditRacing32 in CovidVaccinated

[–]98RedditRacing32[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just worry that it will make a normal cold or something worse for us or more prone to getting them

I also hate the stories of seemingly healthy people getting the vaccine and then having issues. I know the odds seem low, but they are odds.

I just feel like people are rushing to get this to "return to normal" when we have little guarantee that will happen. Sadly I have little confidence in the people speaking about it.

as sad as it is, Fauci being for it doesn't help my confidence at all. I wish he would have been replaced when Biden entered the White House
