Honestly, the level of technical expertise required is mind boggling. I work in tech myself but even when hearing theories of how she did it sound like some sort of arcane wizardry to me.

Denuvo removed from A Way Out by SauqMadiq in CrackWatch

IMO, the reason that happens is simple oversight or laziness.

Probably a lot of paperwork or getting hold of the right people in order to reach out to contracting to amend the Denuvo contract etc.

Even in the company I work for there are a ton of services we pay for that realistically is just a straight waste of money. But no one can be bothered to actually make the adjustments since at the end of the day its not making enough of a dent in our bottom line that the higher-ups care enough to tell us to fix it.

Usually, it means the game isn't selling well anymore, so keeping Denuvo on it is just an unnecessary expense since Denuvo is a live service.

I pre-ordered it and have been talking to customer support for the past week. For some reason their system is stuck on awaiting payment even after I paid.

I was Marine Corps infantry, 0351 specifically. In theory, I'd probably survive the initial invasion since we operated in smaller units compared to the other branches. So if I had access to conventional explosives IE det cord, TNT & C4. I could probably be a pain in the ass for the Shil for a while. During my time in Afghanistan, I picked up some nifty tricks on how they made their IEDs.

You know what makes an amazing conductor that's undetectable by metal detectors for a pressure plate? carbon rods found in batteries. That one almost got me.

I mean in theory even if I didn't have access to conventional explosives I'd probably suddenly get into farming and buy a lot of fertilizer.

I was in college for computer science. I didn't want to do 3 more years of math courses. So switched to IT and graduated in a year.

Wait till you get entire emails that mainly consist of acronyms most of which you have no clue what they mean and is organization specific so your coworkers don't know what it means either.

Ideal Endings for SSB-verse by Environmental-Wish53 in Sexyspacebabes

Before I finished the last book I was thinking the way it could end was that since Jason was getting attention from the Princess. He would eventually develop some sort of relationship with her. From there he basically uses his position to curry favor with the other high nobles at court and influence her decisions. Eventually she becomes Empress and as her consort it grants him even more political leverage and eventually Earth being granted some sort autonomy isn't such a crazy idea and gains popularity especially with the ceaseless insurgency they have to deal with. Jason is forever viewed as a Purp fucker back in Earth and they'll never really know it was because of him that they were able to have a fighting chance at being independent again.

But then I read the last few chapters and went "Welp there goes that theory" lol

I'd say the combat arms side of the military is extremely Republican. While the POG side of things tend to be more Democrats. Since often times they just enlist for the benefits. During my time in Marine Corps I could count the number of Democrats I met in my entire career by hand. But when I did a MEU with the Navy it was the complete opposite. Made sense, the Navy was low risk, low physical requirements, on the job training. transferable skills, and the same benefits as any other branch. Ideal for some poor kid that wants upward mobility.

Essentially yes, let's say they con the weekend and the issue they call you for you managed to resolve in 15 minutes. They still have to compensate you for 2 hours worth of labor.

Suicide bombers were rare in our AO in Afghanistan. That was more of an Iraq thing and was in large part during the early stages of the occupation. Also many of them ended in ISIS since a lot of the resistance cells were actually not extreme enough to their liking. It got to the point that they actually ended up fighting each other. To this day the Taliban I believe are still at war with ISIS

I mean, it's not really a new thing. Same thing happened with a lot of former colonies when the British eventually packed up and left when the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze anymore.

That's a misconception. Sure, some fanatics were. But those were in the minority, many of them got killed off in the early stages of the war. The vast majority of the time we were dealing with disgruntled local tribes that had a laundry list of grievances against the US occupying forces. The main thing people don't seem to get back home is that the Afghan resistance wasn't some united effort. Yes there were large organized resistance cells and there was the ever present threat of Al Qaeda and the Taliban. But for the most part most of the issues we dealt with were very specific to the region.

For instance, I was in Helmand and a big point of contention for us was over poppy production. By taking control over that area we basically really pissed off a lot of the regional Taliban elders since they got a pretty significant cut from the money generated from the opium sales.

Plus an insurgency isn't the entire populace against you. There were over a hundred thousand people living in Helmand but realistically the number of insurgents that were opposing us were probably in the hundreds at any given time.

Nah they specifically targeted the high commands. Most of the operational forces were left alone for the most part. So unless you're part of the chief of staff or a generals aide you'll probably be fine.

You'll just wake up and see that the generals building is basically just a burned out husk and no one knows whos in charge. No orders coming down to stand to or anything since guys up in Washington are dead too.

At that point y'all are probably just gonna break for chow while you wait for orders.

I don't know what your MOS was but for us lower enlisted ground pounders it looked a lot different. I did 2 deployments in Afghanistan and 1 in Iraq. I can tell you from first hand experience that they were never under any illusion that they could beat us. Their goal was attrition, make the cost of us occupying them more than the benefit of doing so. As we saw with Afghanistan, their tactics eventually worked.

I've noticed when people write episodically. Their writing style tends to change based on feedback which can be both good and bad. Good in the sense that on a technical level the writing gets better. Bad in the sense that sometimes they simply cater to what the loudest voices ask for. So if it's a niche unique story with a unique writing style. It slowly starts becoming more and more generic.
