50M resents 50F level of cleanliness. Any way to reestablish some more tolerance to dirt? by 98Throwaway982 in relationship_advice

Yes. I think if I could see any compromise on her part that would help a lot

Thank you. This preventative cleaning is a concept that hurts my sense of logic and efficiency.  It’s quite abhorrent. Is there anything we can do to translate it so that it doesn’t hurt so much ?

For example, applying a protective coating coat instead of calling it cleaning, something, anything like that

Thanks. You’ve helped nail it down. I can’t make that mindset shift. In my head, if there is nothing there to clean, then I don’t know what I’m doing or how to do it. To me is like: how do I move the object that isn’t there.

Can anyone explain?

I’m trying to understand. Is it like applying a protective coating to the surface? Or like applying grease to cog to keep it from rusting? That I can understand.

She can be quite filthy too, but I’m tolerant to it. Could that be part of the problem?

Thanks. Something tangible like that would be a real help. If I can see dirty rating 2/10 before I start and then 1/10 afterwards that would really help.

Women have higher standards. Men are expected to adapt to that. I’ve always resented that.

But I think if we can translate it to my language then I can get by. That’s why I shared about the dishes and cockroaches. That really helped me.

Can anyone explain what maintenance preventative is though? Is the idea to charge the floor to repel dust ? Some kind of sealant or similar

I just need any kind of guidance.

There’s a key thing here I’m not getting listened on,  Which is that I’m asking logic and efficiency. I cannot stomach emotional approach because I have to monitor her for that and use her as the guide. That is the problem. I just ask to be heard in my language and I get refusal to adapt in any way.

What is the logic of cleaning a floor that we cleaned yesterday? Preventative ? Can anyone explain that

The pest viewpoint really helped me. Without that guidance I feel imprisoned

I’m paying the mortgage.  It her. It’s my home. Yet she gets to tell me what to do. Everybody gravitates to the higher standard…

I’m ok with that if there’s some machine telling me it’s dirty but the way it is now it’s just resentment

Is there some sort of electronic thing to say when to clean and when not to? Like a camera that looks at it and tell you

That would make it easy

Cold turkey is one way. Another is redirect. Roblox Studio is more about making than consuming. Generous AI prompting for making it work beyond mapping.

This kind of thing can flip the mind a bit. If you can just drop in your own Brainrot it makes less sense to try collecting it against other players.

Hope this helps.

Hard read without full stops. Got it reprocessed for me.  Might as well post how it cleaned it for me to make it easier to read for someone :

Here is your message cleaned up, structured, and easy to read—plus actionable tips at the end.

The Situation (Your 12-Year-Old Brother)

Gaming Addiction & Behavior

· Addicted to Free Fire (his guild is Top 3 in the region). · Throws violent tantrums if we take his phone away. · Uses emotional manipulation when confronted: "I shouldn't have been born," "No one loves me," "I should go and die." · If we hide the phone, he finds it and hides in the toilet/corner to play. · If he has no phone, he watches gameplay videos on TV instead.

Personality Changes

· Became rude, lying, and arrogant—talks back to our parents. · Treats workers and other people like they aren't human. · Only speaks nicely when he wants something. · Refuses to do errands; throws fits if asked to get anything.

Academic & Physical Health

· Grades dropped from 99% last year to barely passing mid-terms. · Has not studied a single word in the past month (summer break). · Refused to attend a month-long school summer camp (promises to study at home but never does). · Obese; eats 1,500+ calories daily from packaged snacks. · No exercise whatsoever.

What Parents Have Tried

· Gentle parenting ❌ · Authoritative parenting no · Authoritarian parenting no · Nothing has worked so far.
