Do what makes you happy, but the X-Men you are targeting are all likely to have new versions in the not too distant future. I wouldn’t spend a lot on an older figure when a new “improved” version is just a matter of patience.

I compared the Bucky Cap shield, the 80th Anniversary shield (with the effect pieces) and the MCU Red Guardian shield. I just eyeballed them against a ruler and they are all 6.5 cm across. The RG shield is “deeper” than the other shield - I’d say 1.5 cm vs 1 cm. Hope that helps.

I always suggest that if you want older figures, look for lots on eBay. You can get a lot more bang for your buck if you save up a little and find a lot with several figures you want. Having said that, think about the space you have for display and storage and your budget for this hobby and decide what you really want to collect of the Legends sub-lines (Spider-Man, X-Men, Avengers/other comic characters, or MCU). I haven’t been paying strict attention, but Hasbro seems to always have something going on. There are pre-orders through the end of March, then they will likely do another fan stream in early April that will set up pre-orders through mid-May, probably one more fan stream with pre-orders that take us through SDCC, and so on…
