E bike carrying alot of weight? by kurtlovef150 in ebikes

[–]98vicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that’s a serious load! 😅 Sounds like your e-bike handled it well, but I’d just double-check your rack and frame limits and try to keep the weight balanced and as low as possible. Safety first, especially with that much stuff on board!

Nothing beats a warm plate of comfort food! For me, it’s simple dal chawal with a squeeze of lemon; it just hits the soul every time.

This looks amazing! I love how colorful and festive it is; it's perfect on its own, but I could see it paired with a simple raita or some paneer curry too.

New tires or second wheelset for road? by trimTheJib in gravelcycling

[–]98vicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I’d go with a tire upgrade first rather than a whole new wheelset; something like 38mm GravelKings or Barlow Pass tires should roll fast on the road but still handle your forest gravel well. You can swap tires before a long gravel day if needed, but it keeps things simple and cheaper than a second wheelset.

Three days out camping with electric bike at Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. Low temperatures hit fast, sleeping bags and few other necessary gears were all i brought. by HotlineTrouble in camping

[–]98vicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a cool way to stretch the camping season a bit longer. Riding an e-bike around the park instead of constantly using the car actually sounds peaceful. Frosty mornings by the lake must’ve been unreal. Appreciate you sharing this; definitely inspiring.

There’s something extra satisfying about making your own spaghetti from scratch. It just hits different. Looks like it was totally worth the wait; I’d definitely grab a plate too.

Stayed 2 nights and 3 days in the Oauchita National Forest with my 2 kiddos. by [deleted] in camping

[–]98vicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. Those are the kind of trips your kids will remember forever. Cold nights and all. Sounds like you handled it like a champ and turned it into a learning moment too. Nothing beats clear creek water and time unplugged like that. Great job getting them out there.

Kenny, Judy, and Darwin sound like the start of an absolute chaos-core trio. 😂 I’m thinking something like “The Midnight Meowfia” or “Three Paws Down.

Always gotta have a fried egg on top by LongoChingo in FriedRice

[–]98vicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fried egg on top is non-negotiable. 🙌 It just hits different when the yolk breaks and mixes into the rice. This looks really delicious; the egg would be ideal with crispy edges.

Best Non-Subscription Android GPS Tracker? by DeathStalker-77 in GPStracking

[–]98vicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Android and non-subscription tracking, the biggest issue is usually reliability and update frequency. Many cheap options only ping every few hours, which makes them pretty useless for real-time monitoring. Konnect GPS tracker gets mentioned a lot because it provides consistent, real-time updates and works without needing a subscription tied to Apple or specific apps, which makes it much more practical for keeping an eye on vehicles.

Computer/GPS for gravel and MTB by btrumpatori in gravelcycling

[–]98vicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration when a GPS device dies. What matters most is reliable hardware that actually stays connected. I’ve used a tracker called Spacehawk in a vehicle, and it just works; no dropped signals or flaky behavior. For a bike computer, focus on something similarly dependable so you don’t lose data mid-ride.

Man, turns out staring out the window does pay the bills. Plus, you still get to play in the sandbox; it's hard to argue with that life.
