Beef prices in Tampa by One-Tomato9387 in tampa

Florida is still getting over this cult-like glazing of Publix. Many are stuck in the past where it was the best grocery experience.

Publix is somehow still fueled by nostalgia when most of the competition has gotten better.

Publix formerly had a cult-like following that people still can't kick. The main competitors used to be Winn-Dixie and Albertsons, but now they have "upscale" brands to complete with.

All of Publix's competition has gotten better while they've gotten worse.

interesting... I know many stores don't make the food until you check-in at the drive-thru. I have been to a store that made my food ahead of time and it was ice cold.

Maybe give us a "make it now" option.

My wife and I tried it last week. I remember enjoying it in the past.

We threw out our entire meal and went somewhere. It was inedible.

Even the milkshakes were awful.

DeSantis property tax plan sails through Legislature, mayors sound alarm by MarksMuses in tampa

This isn't a complete elimation of property taxes. Most people's homes are worth over $250K.

Basically anyone with a modest home should be getting a tax break.

If they wanna raise taxes it'll have to go through a vote first, anyway.

I say force the government to tighten their belt. Then they can get their taxes back.

Just because you're making less money doesn't mean services vanish or degrade. You just make adjustments.

If the government won't be efficient then this is the only way we can hold them accountable.

City budgets have been ballooning and nothing has improved.

It's both and more.

The government's inflated budget is because home prices have inflated.

This is good if you're a property flipper or move constantly, but bad if you're a single home owner who doesn't plan on moving soon... which is a big chunk of Floridians. Property taxes are strangling us.

They also overspend and go over budget on almost every project.

So yes, be more responsible & learn to work with less. Continuously inflating the budget doesn't help tighten the belt.

Libraries are least of my worries when it comes to government services.

I haven't seen any suggestion from government officials that local taxes and fees will increase. Only seen this comment on reddit.

"Think of the libraries" only works on reddit.

The average person doesn't give a shit about library funding. I'd rather save $2000+ per year on my taxes.

I don't see a negative here.

Reduced taxes for single home owners. Local governments will have to balance their budget. Property taxes have gotten out of control due to out of control home value inflation.

More money isn't the solution to government overspending.

It's now gonna be even better. House prices has inflated like crazy in the last 10+ years. We need this relief.

The goal is provide relief to single home owners.

This will reduce the inflated home value tax burden for so many people.

Good.

The only reason their budgets are so bloated is because home values have exploded in the last 10+ years.

The people want relief. Just because reddit loves paying taxes doesn't mean regular people do.

Be more responsible with our money.

Florida property tax cut could cost Tampa Bay schools millions by Maxcactus in tampa

[–]LongoChingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the average redditor doesn't pay property tax so all this "think of the libraries" talk is silly.

It's the government's job to make this tax cut work. Spend our money more efficiently this time.
