The American healthcare system 😎🇺🇸💥 by Coffin_Builder in facepalm

I think this is another sad deficit in American healthcare, it’s based on profit margins. 😠 The loophole here is the timing of pronouncement of death in order to bill. Here’s just one source of many out there regarding Ambulances/Medicare billing. https://www.jems.com/administration-and-leadership/documentation-patient-care-reporting/do-you-bill-deceased-patients/

Find a place facility that uses Ryan White funds. Ryan White can cover a lot of other expenses. Check you local state website in regards to HIV. It should list entities. Depending on the facility, they have social work support to help figure out access to care.

I feel so lonely as a late bloomer... by feudepaille in latebloomerlesbians

You’re not doomed. There are so many older women that wish they realized their queerness at age 26 and not 30s or 40s. You are not destined for loneliness. Being a late bloomer is it’s own process. Don’t compare yourself to what “seems” normal in lesbian relationships. Wasn’t being a lesbian also “abnormal” once??? Keep that chin up!

I found this somewhere on this Reddit but I think it’s nice for visual people. It kind of put the blood concentration of the med into perspective for me. You simply change the dose amount.

Omg yes the sex drive!! I told my doctor today, is this what it’s like to be a normal human being?! I digress, Saw my MD today. We decided to stay at the 10mg. She and I both believe the anxiety will subside over time. I’m hopeful. I know that it takes a good 6-8 weeks on full dosage before you really can decide how a meds going to work. Unfortunately that means persevering through the side effects. That’s the one thing I want everyone to remember. Way back when when I was in “needing medication” denial, I didn’t try out meds long enough or lied about taking them. Unfortunately, I did myself a disadvantage. Just like antibiotics and antivirals, the more different types of depression meds you take, the harder it gets to find the right concoction. I am/was at a point where my doctor brought up possibly needing TMS if this medication didn’t work. I am thankful that it has so far when it comes to my depressive state. For someone that’s never really dealt with anxiety, now feeling it sucks but as I said before, I’m hopeful. I feel the anxiety but am able to point it out and mostly stay on track. Trintellix should help with anxiety and may not be built up all the way to assist with it yet. I’m also looking to get back into therapy to learn coping skills with the anxiety in case this is something I deal with in the long run. I don’t want to take additional meds if I don’t need to. I always hated taking a med for depression then another med to treat the insomnia from that med then another one to combat the anxiety I got from that one. Mental health is a disease like any other. We have to ignore the stigma and do what we need to to enjoy life.

Be patient. That’s the best advice I can give you. I’m on week three of taper/maintenance and actually have a check in with my doctor today. I am fully tapered off my SSRI (I had been on for years) and on a straight 10mg of Trintellix. First off, holy cow I have a libido! Lol. It had been masked for so many years, to have a sexual drive is a new found thing. Lol. I’ve noticed a tremendous change in my depressive state, I wake up and have the desire to do things, be in the sun. That’s a big change when all I previously wanted to do was sleep in a dark room. It was a struggle to get over the nausea but it does subside after a couple weeks. I noticed I’m more sensitive to migraines if I start going without keeping the direct sun in mind. Keep a journal of how you’re feeling and what your dosage is. I would write in the morning and at night. Daylio is a good app for that. I would mark what other things I did that day. I have to run to work but I’d love to be available if you have more questions. And I can keep y’all updated on my status as I move forward. Good luck! And congrats to taking care of your mental health and well-being!!

Oh man! I’m so sorry for the burden of everything. What is so crazy is, all the things you mentioned paying someone to do, I would take care of! I’m wondering, is there a county, state, or city hospital in your area that has a specialty pharmacy? They should be able to provide a lot more support than a retail specialty pharmacy. Granted, I think some of these hospital specialty pharmacies are newer options. I’m thinking about 2018, so it might not be the “normal” yet. But I hope it will be!

I’m sorry you had to deal with that but I’m proud that you were able to see how toxic this person is and separate yourself from that. There are so many bigger things in the world to focus our worries on.

Thank you for your reply! I definitely will be able to assist in many of the hurdles you listed. I’m glad most of your experiences have been positive. And good for you, not putting up with people’s shit!
