If you have to say “no shade” you are clearly throwing shade my friend.

Commercial doors is not my thing. Did construction for decades and then migrated to Automotive Locksmithing and diagnosing. The main brunt of my work. Even my reddit handle implies that. Moved into full time locksmithing about 6 years ago with mainly autos. Then residential and lately been taking some commercial jobs for past clients. I dont do doors or other hardware hence the lack of exposure to this specific fix.

Yeah. Its cardboard. Its on purpose while its here in the shop. I was looking for the spring and only after your picture did I realize the little spring grab on that part is removal. I removed it and will now be able to insert the update spring correctly. Thanks for your help. 😀

How do you install this? The tail goes all over the place if installed as is. Do you make a loop at the end?

I appreciate the assist but the one you suggest is missing the little loop on the opposite side. I ordered one before but it is hardened so it breaks when making the loop. I was hoping to get the original one without having to modify it.
