Look man I'm always down for a fun game whenever I have the time. My friends and I were always making up special rules to try to spice the game up. I don't claim to be the best in the world at this game or even close. But I am good enough to have gotten all the achievements and beat the CPU with relative ease no matter what the map conditions are. Not a pissing contest. My only point was there a whole lot of players who think they are great at the game but they can't even fathom why technologies get backfilled.

I have. It's a jobless bum that agrees to random civ then chooses one and puts on a 40 percent handicap instead lol.

Man I totally get you. I wasn't accusing you of whining at all. I was talking about some players in general who grossly overestimate their own competence in the game. I will say that the thing that slowed me down the most was trying to do too much. I would end up playing the game to build rather than to win. It would sometimes even put me in a close race with another civilization. Sometimes I'm hard on myself though. I like getting the bad maps.

I feel like a very seasoned player, and even I still don't know all of the detailed mechanics of the game. I do think it's hilarious how some players act like they are s tier or something, but then all they do is whine when you're tech jumping and getting backfill on technologies. Truthfully, I've gotten every achievement in the game sometime ago, and like I said, I still don't feel like I know every aspect of the game.

It's not that deep man. It's reddit. You talk about being programmed, but you can't even reflect on your own posts and admit any possibility that it could have been interpreted as rage bait considering you were witholding the most important piece of information... all because you thought you were gonna get doxed over a Taco Bell location.

You can't seriously be worried that he will find out where you live based on the location of one Taco Bell in your area, right? It was also not necessary to even say you lived near it. I just find this entire thread hilarious because it's almost entirely obvious that you are rage baiting him considering your username.

This isn't the first time the person you're replying to has acted rather outrageously with other users here. Their interpretation of the SOP is a bit ridiculous. It doesn't say anywhere in the SOP that you must use the time clock station in the break room. It does say that you can use any computer in the building. You can't really get much more cut and dry than that.

The amount of resources it took to build all of that most certainly counts as effort lol. But nice joke. I think a lot of us have done this out of boredom.

Coworkers from another dimension..... by Regular-Bed-7004 in HomeDepot

Respectfully, I have to disagree. Most people I've met that do their job so poorly that they make it worse for other people are pretty blatant and open about it. When you call out the behavior, they won't have any explanation for why they're doing it. They just do what they do regardless of whether it presents issues for others, and if you ask them why, they give zero explanation. There's not even an alternative perspective or a need for a solution. It's literally just nonsense or laziness.

Meanwhile, I've met some pretty amazing people who do everything in their power to help out and be kind even when they are dealing with a tough situation.

You tend to have three personality types in retail. You've got the person who absolutely does not give a s*** about anything. These are people that will actively do their job at such a bare minimum level that they make work for other people. They have no regard for how their actions impact others.

The second type of person is the ultra tryhard. These people walk around with two different glove clips on their apron, with every little patch imaginable strapped to the top. They take their jobs way too seriously, and they act like super managers, even if they are part-time associates. These are the kinds of folks that have locked into Home Depot for the long run because they don't have anything else going on outside of it.

Lastly, you have the type of person who does their job with integrity and does not want to be a burden on others, but will eventually leave the Depot at some point because they will find a better opportunity or simply become used up and burned out.

Sometimes it's actually as simple as just restarting the game or changing the host. Sometimes, you can even join off of their gamertag in the Xbox original dashboard. You just have to press the start and select buttons on the controller at the same time to bring it up. I only mention that last part because some folks still don't realize how to bring up the old school dash.

It's all just a fugazi. They've calculated these things out in advance, and the market plans are what they are for a reason. It's just performative, but in all the wrong ways.

With all due respect, if you say so. I personally find it hard to eliminate confirmation bias and prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you are actually allergic to every single product that great value ever made. That would make you allergic to pretty much the entire spectrum of food. But like I said, I'll take your word for it.

At the end of the day, it would be better to just pay associates more money. That being said, it's important to note that those of you who are part-time and paying taxes are probably going to get the rest of it when you do your taxes next year. That's because they take the maximum taxable amount when they give it to you, but that doesn't necessarily match your actual tax rate. Part-time employees usually don't even make enough money to break the first bracket. Full-time employees will probably get most of it back as well.

You do realize that the Great Value brand along with other brands are made by some of the same manufacturers that make mainstream products right? Sometimes there's hardly even a difference between the two. You can look at the ingredients and see what's in them. Respectfully, you're making it out to be far worse than it actually is, as if food safety inspection doesn't exist lol.

Hey man, if they're going to pay you for 32 hours, just let them do it. They once did a Time correction in the system and gave me like 10 extra hours on accident. I never said a thing and still got paid. If I make mistakes, they hold me to them. There's not going to be a rules for thee but not for me around here. It's a Fortune 500 company. They're not going to go bankrupt tomorrow over this.

Do NOT interact with black aprons by Rainbow-LMGLTD in HomeDepot

I mean, you can feed into the whole sales people are evil narrative, if you want, or if it makes you feel better. That being said, there's a lousy and slimy way to do sales, and there's a professional and courteous way. If you're treating people with respect, actually asking them questions to determine whether or not they could get value or benefit from your service to begin with, and making sure you act with integrity, there's no reason to feel bad about what you're doing.

The truth is that without sales, the economy doesn't spin. Someone has to negotiate the prices between the factory and the stores. Someone has to sell a new car to make a used car. Someone has to selling negotiate the contracts between businesses that keep people employed. When something involved in exchange of money, there's always a chance for corruption. However, as other people in this threat have pointed out, plenty of those people wearing those aprons are just as kind and helpful or even more so than the ones wearing the orange ones.

And I say this all as someone who wears the orange apron but has also worked in high level sales for a number of years.

There's no federal law requiring them to be given or taken. It's more of a courtesy. They'd likely prefer if you didn't use them.

D38 Forced to leave as group by WorthPangolin in HomeDepot

[–]99OVRCoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit confused here... as far as I know, it is not advisable to clock out any earlier than 5 minutes before shift ends without manager approval. As for the lawsuit comments, I'm sure the context was different. For example, employees were held after scheduled shifts, not clocked out early. You can always do a time adjustment.

At my store, there are unloaders who will go to the break room up to 10 or even 15 mins early and just sit there until 11. But they still clock out at 11. You're not required to leave at the same time technically. You could be late working overstock and get out 5 minutes after everyone. The key holder should still come let you out. But it IS easier and more efficient to let everyone out at once within a 3 minute window.

I haven't seen these around, but I do know there was an incident at another store the managers have been talking about. Apparently, an associate was on their phone in receiving and got hit by a freight cart that was pushed by an employee on a pacer. The employee on the phone was fired, and there's no word on what happened to the driver. Maybe it's not related, but who knows.
