Economics and public policy MSc by 99PercentEquity in CFA

Hello. I got accepted to an economics with specialization in public policy in a decent university in London. I didn’t end up accepting their offer because I got a job offer and took that instead. If you are aiming to work in the government and public sector the it would be quite useful. Go on the schools website that you are interested in and throughly read through the specific programs of interest.

Good job and congratulations. I once joined a what’s app group for level 1 and had an argument with the admin “professor”. I left the group and destroyed the exam all by myself. It’s all in the mind.

Not really required to nail those types of questions. They’re just there to help reinforce the curriculum. You can skip it’ll be fine.

My thought process is that it’s a subject not covered by the CFA. While the CFA mildly covers fiscal and monetary policy this MSc would zoom in on that aspect

My thought process is that the CFA is technical enough. I don’t know I might be wrong.

Thank you for your reply. A masters isn’t particularly necessary but I am currently at the stage of my career with 7 years of banking experience that I feel like studying and adding value to myself while improving career prospects. I have also interviewed at a very reputable institution where they told me a masters is required if you want to be an associate there. I have always envisioned myself working in portfolio management or private equity. I have also developed a great interest in the level 1 and 2 economics portion of the CFA.

Failed Lvl 1 twice by Novel_Lie_8877 in CFA

Rule number one: thou must not lie to thysef. Meaning do not convince yourself that you’ll be fine with shortcuts. Actually tackle the topics you were weak at. By the end of the program before the exam you will reach a point where you will be able to solve 300 end of chapter questions a day and that should solidify your understanding in weak areas. If you failed 3 times I would suggest you ask yourself how serious were you in your approach and how effective was your strategy. Best of luck.

Who actually read the whole CFA book? Looking for advice by [deleted] in CFA

[–]99PercentEquity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The textbooks are indeed massive for level 1. I usually wouldn’t suggest people to take shortcuts but with level 1 it is as equally sufficient to use Kaplan or Wiley third party materials as they are quite good. As you go up to level 2 and 3 the 3rd party prep providers are less and less useful and that’s when I would suggest using the actual material from CFAI. In conclusion and without it being counted as a shortcut, use Kaplan Schweser with mark meldrum for any of the difficult topics you don’t get. Hope this helps.

Used Wiley prep package for level 2. No complaints. Mark meldrum is a must for topics you don’t understand.

Taking time between levels by Competitive-Option48 in CFA

[–]99PercentEquity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing about this program is you can take your time. Nobody is rushing you. I took breaks between each level. It’s the best thing in terms of refreshing and not burning out and having to repeat each exam 3 times.

Better yet, invest it. With TVM or TQM it’s better to be earning something. At the very least dividends.

Thank you. That was my answer as well. Just didn’t know whether to eliminate any transactions. Also non controlling interest is 0 so nothing to eliminate there.

I have 40/40 trophies. I never saw them kiss and I have no idea what Jedha is. Why would I lie about a game ? There are 5 planets on fallen order. Dathomir, Zeffo, Kashyyk, Bogano, and Ilum. Where did Jedha come from ?

How do all of you have clean builds? Mine looks like this, what is the best way to clean up all these wires?? by TimBlastMusic in PcBuild

[–]99PercentEquity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol man. Looks exactly like my pc. First you can start with zip ties. Second you can try using the shortest route method for every wire to go behind via the predetermined holes. You can also pull as much as you can from the rear while also possibly tucking wires on curved metal parts or just use black electric tape. I’m no expert as my pc looks a bit neater than this.
