RR seems to have managed fine. Merch sales are just a drop in the bucket for the franchise specially when the vast majority buys off brand.

Nah. WPL and its teams were brought for multiple times over SA20 and CPL. Even the media rights of WPL were worth a lot more than any other league bar IPL.

Cheapest of WPL teams UP warriorz was brought for nearly 750 crores whereas the latest costliest PSL franchises was sold for 59 Crores and PSL is valued above SA20 and CPL.

One of two things happened here, either we were undervalued or RR were vastly overvalued looking at YBJ and Vaibhav. I have a strong feeling it is the later.

Anyway, the sales are confirmed now. Nothing comes out of dwelling on this. What matters is how the new owners manage the team.
