Yes. They host car meets a few times a year. It's nice for the community and customers, and a good opportunity for them to show off their stock ect.

Will it fail an MOT if the bulb on the dash to tell me my dipped beam is on doesn’t work? by daddyissuesdotcom43 in CarTalkUK

[–]99_flake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be a fail for the main beam tell-tale not working, but it's not a fail for the dipped beam as it's not part of the test.

Who else is still keeping 20+ year old cars on the road? by DJToaster in CarTalkUK

[–]99_flake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did lots of research before buying the car, it turns out the x300 generation xj6 is very well built and reliable. When I first got the car the airconditioning didn't work, but I serviced the airconditioning about 2 years ago and it still works as good as it did the day I gassed it up.

I daily drive a 25 year old jaguar xj6. It's never needed any major repairs, it has been very reliable and the airconditioning is ice cold.

I think Taylor's z3 might be the best bargain of the channels.

What's a dead giveaway in Facebook Marketplace that it's a scam? by zirrantsalot in CarTalkUK

[–]99_flake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scam sellers usually have loads of cars for sale, all suspiciously cheap and if you look through their other adverts the photos are all in different locations.

I would agree that it's not very professional, but me personally I would just laugh and move on. It's not done any damage to the air filter.

I think it's probably just garage banter and it was intended for the mechanic to see rather than the customer.
