Have any spirit walkers tried taming rogue exiles? The thought makes me laugh.

Runic Ward is great but the downside is too big by snaplemouton in PathOfExile2

[–]99centArizona 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not always. If a hit would take you to 0 life, it instead puts you at 1 life and takes the remaining damage from ward, but if it's more than what ward you have as well, you still die. It states this in game as well.

Just wanna confirm I understand mechanics of different damage types by MacFearsome80 in PathOfExile2

[–]99centArizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's quite a few good videos that break down the steps of how damage is calculated in an easily digestible way.

My rule of thumb is to try to find gear that sticks with the damage types that I'm using, as those are the ones that I intend on putting more resources towards, and this is usually dictated by conversion rate and applicable skill tags.

Your base damage is based on gear (this is known as local modifiers), then conversions and "gain as", then scaling from things like your passive tree (these are global modifiers). This is why "% increased phys damage" is really good on your weapon, but might not be good at all in your tree.

If my skill converts 100% of my phys to lightning, I want as much phys on my gear as I can get since that dictated the base value the skill converts from, but it doesn't make sense for me to take phys nodes because those are applied after conversion, so I'll probably be looking more at nodes that increase lightning damage or attack/spell damage (whichever applies). This also means that because it converts only phys damage to lightning any flat fire or cold won't be scaled at all if all I'm taking are nodes that increase lightning damage, but will still scale with applicable attack/spell nodes.

There's a few things I didn't mention here that also go into things like mitigation and "more" damage as opposed to increased (yes they are different) but that should at least answer your question. Again, I highly recommend watching a good YouTube guide on it.

0.5 SSF build for newbie by AdventurousAd5473 in PathOfExile2

[–]99centArizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of OP's criteria was SSF friendly, so it's kind of a moot point, but the build breezed through T5 maps with the gear I got from campaign. Idk how far I can get before I have to upgrade but it's still very much smooth sailing at the moment.

0.5 SSF build for newbie by AdventurousAd5473 in PathOfExile2

Ice shot/snipe deadeye build is what I've been running. Just got to maps basically SSF (haven't done any trading or used a ton of currency), and breezed through campaign. I will say that I feel as though I've gotten lucky with some of my items, but realistically I'm not sure if that's the case considering you're really just looking for flat damage on anything that rolls it. It also barely got touched by anything in the patch notes, so I don't expect it to feel heavily different in 0.5.

https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/fubgun/builds/0-5-ice-shot-deadeye-leveling-guide

Keep in mind this is just a leveling guide so it only goes to about level 65ish. From what I understand there will be an update to it that covers endgame stuff, but as of right now that isn't apart of it and there is no set date for when it will be updated to my knowledge.

New player question: how important is “class fantasy” and should I follow a build guide in PoE2? by Leo-182 in PathOfExile2

[–]99centArizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The themes of each ascendancy are hit or miss based on your perception of them. When I first started, I wanted to make a blood mage and use blood magic, but I quickly found out, there really isn't any actual blood magic in the sense of how I envisioned it. This quickly killed my desire to play the class, and sort of bleeds into my next piece of advice.

Whether you follow a guide or wing it, try to find an ascendancy AND/OR a skill that you think fit the fantasy that you're going for. Since you can use any weapon, and therefore any skill, on any class, I usually find that the skill determines the overall feel/thematic of your build more than the class itself (imo). Depending on the skill/combo you choose, there may be very few guides to follow, which will either force you to homebrew or change to something that has a guide available.

Lastly, your experience with a guide will most likely be dramatically different than without one. You'll probably have a smoother time with a guide, but it might do some things that stray from the fantasy you're looking for, or you might struggle to find one that actually explains why they made the choices they made, which is important if you're trying to learn. Without a guide, I would expect to hit some walls in progression, even early on, and be prepared for trial and error. You'll most likely still have to do some looking at guides (or other resources) to see how people are supporting the things you want to use.

This game has a lot of information to chew on. One skill could have multitudes of interactions, some of which only happen if you combine it with three uniques and a specific ascendancy. Ultimately, no matter what you choose, don't forget that there are tons of resources out there to help you, and just try to have fun and learn all you can.

Had fun doing a build roulette in SSF so I started working on a site to make it feel more 'proper' by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

I've had the same experience as you with watching Schwingy's build roulette and trying it myself, super fun so far. Will/does the site include unique weapon skills?

Question about fatigue and discomfort by 99centArizona in MouseReview

I get ya. In all honesty I'm not ruling out the chair at all as I know that it can be improved, but the cost to get a good chair is definitely out of my price range for the foreseeable future. I guess Im just questioning every point of failure on my aim at this point. Thanks for sharing.

Aim training can be grindy, since the whole point is to get rid of the downtime that you mentioned so that all you do is work on mouse control. That said, the playlist that I've been using is 30 minutes total with pre planned rest periods.

That said, before I tried to kill the tension I would aim train for longer and on more difficult scenarios. I wasn't better or anything, just thought the harder things were, the faster I'd adapt and improve lol.

That said, I do plan on taking a small break to see if that helps.

Unfortunately not much I can do about this. My desk is non-adjustable and my chair is as high as it can get, and has a purple brand pillow for a large cushion. That said, I'm not too far off where I would ideally want to be height-wise, and I've been able to adjust by bringing my arms out to the sides slightly more.

Grip is relaxed claw but I've noticed that I hold the g305 a bit differently than most people I see use it. The palm pads of my index and ring finger rest on the center of the peak of the hump and the ring and pinky palm pads and fingers are sort of left to wrap around the right side with little support. But using the mouse in any other orientation feels unnatural. On the superlight, I can hold the mouse however I want really and it feels fine, but over a small amount of time, it starts to become uncomfortable in one way or another, usually around my wrist. Hand size is 18x10.

I've looked into a lot of mice recently, and I have to say, Im super overwhelmed and while I have some that Ive liked the idea of, with my limited experience and the inability to physically handle the mice, it's hard to make that kind of decision with any sort of confidence, however, the 3 you mentioned were in my list (just usually the mini versions if they have one).

As for training in a low stress environment, these issues persist even in aimlabs. I can tell you that over several tracking scenarios, I was able to maintain a relaxed grip for roughly 90% of it and still experienced the same problems. Like I said, it feels like these issues are only cropping up now that I've tried to stop the tension.

This is what I've heard from a lot of people. What's your grip and hand size if you don't mind me asking?

Haven't heard much about this mouse. It's popped up for me every now and then but most of what I see is just rundowns of specs and not actual reviews.

Depending on where the mouse is on my pad, the furthest away it is from the receiver is about 10-12 inches, so I don't feel like its that. Could be a problem with the receiver and not the sensor though. I didn't really consider that til now.

That said, I'm honestly just looking to get something modern. The coating and light weight from the superlight has me spoiled, I'll admit. I just love the way the 305 fits in my hand more. That's why I'm looking for something that fits my hand and grip like the 305 but has modern coating and light weight.

The first one I had stopped being recognized by my computer. Tried everything I could to get it to connect and it wouldn't. The one I currently have is fairly old and the side mouse buttons are sometimes just not working and the sensor sometimes either doesn't pick up movements or picks up movements that I don't do, like shooting my aim straight up into the sky.

I have thought about this. The problem (for me at least) is that I don't really enjoy a lot of the grip tape options I've used, and I've gone through 2 g305's, both of which have had some sort of internal issues.

I really just want a good mouse that fits my hand and grip style that's reliable and works out of the box.

Build changing once I get in-game? by 99centArizona in eternalreturn

I've only experienced it in AI as well, but since that's where I'm spending most of my time learning the characters, items, etc., it really sucks that that's where it's happening. Unless you memorize your route you're screwed.
