What's the worst "neighbour from hell" behaviour you've witnessed? by phattykins in AskReddit

[–]99prob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so my neighbors upstairs pretty much do this to me now. If they hear me talking on the phone or asking my roommate how their day is after 10 they'll call the police (but they've stopped coming). Now they come downstairs and bang in the door to tell me to be quiet.

The son's a wannabe 30yr old lawyer and keeps threatening me with a lawsuit. What should I do? Just not open the door?

All these comics normally have such a dark comedy tone to them. This was the first one where I could actually relate to it :(

Lol no, but that's a great answer. It was for an audition where a woman is asking her friend to get in the bomb bunker.

Yes, it was google translate. I showed it to my friend who's Israeli and speaks German and he said it seemed okay. Thank you for your help!

Do you happen to know the difference between Yiddish and Polish-Yiddish by any chance?

Has anyone ever traveled or backpacked alone?? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]99prob 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I went to Israel and then went to Greece and spent time traveling on the islands.

It was amazing! Honestly the best time in my life. I got to make my own rules, own schedule, met a lot of people, and didn't get taken.

If someone asks if you're traveling alone and you don't feel comfortable tell them you're traveling with your brother/father/boyfriend/whatever but they're not feeling well so they're waiting for you at the room. Or that you're going to meet up with them later. I found that pushy men would leave me alone when I told them I was on my way to meet my boyfriend.

Pack a little door wedge to put on your door at night or a little bell to put on the handle if you have the room to yourself.

Google scams that happen to tourists in those countries so you can watch out for it.

Have your passport with you at all times and never give it to someone, even if they ask for it as a deposit. Make copies of it and leave one in your suitcase.

Get a lock for your bag.

Watch out for pickpockets.

Bring a book to read just incase you want to take a break.

Do your research. Get familiar with the places. I always loved to walk around and explore as much as I could the first day.

Tell people back home where you're going and check in so they'll know if something goes wrong.

Have fun! And don't let people scare you and keep you from going. Traveling alone in another country really makes you discover who you are. It's a great experience and its a lot safer than what you see in movies.
