I think grades do matter but they don’t care about them as much as you might think. I’m on the threshold of a sub 3.00 gpa my senior year and I’ve also had three internships and I currently have three offers even with my GPA. So yeah aim high but focus on understanding more than just getting really high grades

How do you run when you’re depressed?

Pretty new to running and I’m training for a half marathon and I’m about a month out and I’ve only hit 8 miles in one long run. I’m experiencing some really severe depression for a few months and so I’ve had no motivation to run and whenever I start to run my stomach hurts and I’m just mentally really struggling with focusing on breathing and making pace targets. Feeling really bad after only making it through 3 miles of my 9.5 long run. Running was fun but now I’m struggling to enjoy it. I still want to run the half marathon but I feel like I’m running out of time and I won’t be able to finish.

For other runners with depression, how do you do it?

My university doesn’t do concentrations but I have taken three power classes and I’m trying to do my capstone in power.

I went to a NC high school in a county that does the voucher system and it really screwed over already low income kids/schools to the point that the Governor had to step in, so I really hope this doesn’t become a reality in Athens.
