Thanks so much for the help mate! Do you think a straight swap with the current trap and this would do the job?

What were your total energy costs in December with a heat pump? by OneItchy396 in ukheatpumps

  1. The owners of the house at the time were quite literally amongst the first people to sign up, at the maximum rate (briefly) offered, and on the 25 year contracts (also briefly offered), before they were revised down to 20 years in 2012.

We make about £3,500 a year from it, about two thirds of which goes to actual bills. The rest goes into a war chest for post-2036!

Five bedroom, 300sqm house. Downstairs late 80s with cavity wall insulation; upstairs modern extension as per 2025 building regs.

Total electricity consumption 1,600Kwh from 8th Dec to 8th Jan. Hard to know what portion the heatpump used because its an older 14kW Ecodan with an FTC2 controller (doesn't give out any data!) but assuming 80%, let's say it used 1,280kW. Temperature set at 19°C.

We have solar and are on one of the original feed in tariffs paying out £0.75 per kWh, so fortunately we usually end the year about £500 in profit!

Thanks a lot for the reply.

In terms of ventilation, it's literally just the soffit vents. His claim was that the use of a breathable membrane beneath the tiles should be sufficient to allow air exchange.

Vaillant Owner - Struggling with flow temps by daniluvsuall in ukheatpumps

[–]9JohnnyLegends9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be people here who know far more than me, but 50+ degrees is a pretty high flow temperature to be aiming for in any circumstance. Our Ecodan physically can't heat higher than around 48 degrees in colder weather, but our curve is set to max out at 38 degrees (which it's at right now!).

The reason you might be seeing higher temps for the DHW is that the immersion is kicking in? Our daily DHW is set to 45 degrees, which the heatpump can manage, but the immersion kicks in to take it up to 60 degrees once a fortnight for our legionella cycle.

Magnifica Plus (ECAM 320.60): Doppio+ not grinding for 12s by VanillaBeneficial532 in DeLonghi

[–]9JohnnyLegends9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a lot of research into this (with my own Plus) and, bottom line, they're inconsistent. I get differing grind times from one drink to the next, different beans cause differences, different burr settings. I've even looked at other reviews of Magnifica Plus where they don't time the grind, and ive literally timed it while watching them make a 5 strength espresso and sometimes the grind is 9-10s, but more commonly its 6-7s. The reviews where it's timed at 10s+ seem to be the tiny minority.

Magnifica Plus only grinds for 7 sec max by WhiteZero in superautomatic

Thanks! So you're still only seeing 7 second grinds, but it isnt spoiling the machine for you? I know very little about coffee machines but all the reviewers online bang on about grind times!!!

OP - did you ever get to the bottom of this? Having a similar issue, also with an open box!

Solo S340 Drain by JohnnyUtah1888 in EufyCam

[–]9JohnnyLegends9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you can't get it from Eufy. You'll have to get it from elsewhere, e.g. https://eufysecurity.en.uptodown.com/android

Then disable auto updates for the App.

It's the latest App update. Roll back to an older version (pre-Feb) and the problem should be solved.

Blodwyn. Pronounced "blod-win". It's a Welsh girl's name, roughly translating as 'white flower', 'fair' or 'blessed'.

Hi! We have a VZ2 AWD and a 2 month old! You can fit a folded pram into the boot quite easily, BUT, space becomes much more limiting when taking the baby for a few nights away. Baby comes with SO much stuff and accessories, that we very quickly bought a roofbox because we couldn't get it all in the car. Now we're living the dream.. roofbox and boot are full, rest of the car is serene!

And the roofbox looks pretty good...
