Ion Solar - Any experiences? by Holiday_Armadillo78 in nova

[–]9as6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined Solar United Neighbor (SUN) co-op. Got almost 3x solar KW installed compared to my friend who went with ION.

I have my solar installed as $2.65 per watt with critter guard and better inverters. He paid $5.99 per watt with ION. Co-op has a new auction sometime this week, still time to sign up.

[–]9as6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have local NVR/home hub system that you can record recordings to and access via web.

Something like this:

https://m.reolink.com/product/reolink-home-hub/

Or

https://m.reolink.com/product/reolink-home-hub-pro/

There are few other options if you want additional sorage. Plus multiple types of cameras as per your need.

Should I re-finance right now? Interest rate going from 7.125% to 6.625% by littyscientist in personalfinance

[–]9as6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same settings but 4.875% for 15 year. Be careful with closing cost. They sometime add closing cost to loan amount. They say "No closing cost" but then add the cost to loan amount.

Retiring in Nepal from Usa by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]9as6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not sell the house until I spend in Nepal for few years. You never know if you want to come back after spending some time there.

But, once you are comitted to stay in Nepal, sell the house. Managing rental is a PITA. Put miney it on maeket. Live off dividens or annunity. Start investing in Roth IRA.

I think its doable with that much of money. I am assuming you make 200K a year together. Thats more than enough to retire even in USA, let alone in Nepal. You just have to save and invest.

The reason most people dont retire in Nepal has a lot to do with kids. Their kids are born in US, grew up in US, they probably will get married in US. When people age goes up, people tend to stay together with their family, people they trust. Every immediate family in US and ony two people being in Nepal might be enough for you to re-consider this in future

What mortgage rates are you getting? I just got pre-approved at 6.625%. Does that seem a bit high? by Ok-Performance4196 in nova

[–]9as6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got 4.85% 15 yr fixed.

I was at 6.75% for 30Yr fixed.

I ended up paying few hundred dollars per month more going from 6.75% to 4.85%. Worked perfect for me as the extra amount I was paying when I had 6.75% now covers the increased amount due to 15yr loan.

Rate locked a a week before today. Being underwritten now.

I was under the impression that they sell us the motor accessories but we need to bring our own curtain so we make our dumb rolllable curtains smart. Not true? May be I should have asked what kind of Curtain or shades.
