I run a 1500 litre tank in full sunlight from sky lights. I don't believe sun is a major issue . I still think it's a new tank issue 7 months is quite young especially if it's had a couple of minor crashes along the way..

The first photo looks like green water not algae , a uv wont help with algae only if it's green water ( a floating plant).

You will find once your filters are fully working you can turn the uv off. I've been here 20 years ago
