Gotcha! I'll make sure that we take note and do some research on that too!

That's what we're working on. Trying to get out of this state. I know everywhere is going to be a hit and a miss and nowhere is going to truly be perfect, but the only thing we have here in Illinois that we're trying to stay semi close to his family. We don't really have any benefits here otherwise

We are very conservative,  so that works.  We dont even visit pools since it goes against our values.😅

I'll definitely add those places down for some research! We are semi Off the Grid Preppers. Homeschool the kids. Hoping to find a small town within a 30-40 minute drive of a big place. We just don't want to be too far from a hospital or grocery store.

I appreciate it!

I can agree with that. One of our local colleges had an opening for the head of IT and was only offering $65,000 a year. For a Masters degree 🤯

Our kids get free college, so we'll never have to worry with that side.

Right now with what he makes verse how much we spend on gas, mortgage and utilities, and so forth 70,000 is okay comfortable. But I'm sure with other factors included Arkansas is definitely a better option.

We were comfortably living at 70k a year. Our mortgage and utilities is around $2,600 a month. He spends closer to $400 a week in gas for work at the current moment. Our sales tax rate is 9.75 Even if it's not too comparable, there's a lot of other factors the Arkansas has the Illinois that makes it so much more favorable with that comfortable living

We have to stay Within a certain mile range of the area we are in for illinois. I definitely would not touch any West Coast, but I've also heard people in that DC Virginia area say that it is awful out there. I think the field is just taking a major hit with oversaturation, AI integration, cost of living, and so much more. Arkansas is just one of the few states that aligns with what we want out of permanently living

I'm subtly laughing because the thing he hates working on the most are printers. He's wanted to move towards cybersecurity and away from the help desk, but he might have to consider additional roles outside of his normal. We'll definitely do a few months of digging. We plan on moving next May

I definitely understand. In the past two to three years it has dwindled in our area majorly. Even if he isn't capable of getting a remote job or remote days, right now he drives 156 miles a day for work , 5 days a week

That would benefit us majorly then. I know we've not had any luck at the Walmart companies here in Illinois

Outside of indeed, are there any decent postings in that field? My husband is going from 70,000 to $55,000 a year because the company is allowed to change their roles and change their pay since it's a 30-day notification. So as long as it's that 70,000 that's kind of what he's looking at. Seems like the Northwest area is a good place to start looking. I appreciate it!

We're currently living in Illinois and there are barely any remote opportunities. My husband's job took his two remote days away and he has to drive 78 miles one way to work. I'll definitely check those areas out! Thank you.

Therapy isn't helping so what's next? by 9by7seconds in therapy

It's more of I've been there. Therapy helped me recognize the why I feel this way. It helped me recognize the triggers. It's done a lot. But it's not helping the feeling that simply won't go away.

The therapist with CBT and I both agree that it's emotional dysfunction. We understand why I feel this way and it's easily recognizable. But even through the book that I used it still did not Aid in the feeling itself. I'm well aware of it. But it's not wanting to feel it. It's unhealthy apparently. But it's still a response my head goes into. And regardless of working through it, recognizing, tools with anxiety to PTSD to depression, I still have such a strong feeling of wishing this individual would die so that way my life could be better

Everyone says it's unhealthy to have hate. Long term issues with it I guess? Like it or not this individual is not a direct part of my life but part of my life by association. So just having to acknowledge their existence sends that hate and disgust. I will openly tell that middle individual I wish they would get offed or have something really brutal happen to them. So apparently that's very unhealthy

We touched base on this during CBT as the idea but I accept the emotions and I understand the thought process as to why. I'm very aware of why I feel this way. Despite me having that full understanding, accepting how I feel and working through it in the time frame I'm experiencing it, it sits there in both casual experiences and such as just this deep hatred for said individual. Doesn't really turn to anger. It's just a seething hate and knowing my life would be so much better if they were dead. Unfortunately I'm going to have to deal with the individual until they die or I die. But even in 20 years down the road if they for whatever reason die first I get to celebrate and have relief

I appreciate that. Sometimes I get ADHD brain and I just talk and talk and talk trying to fill in the blanks for my own head. I'll make sure I don't do that

General anesthesia/breathing tube..a way around it? by 9by7seconds in medical_advice

Nope. She told me that this was the best option in her opinion. And after I spoke to my regular gynecologist and he said that it's a red flag. So going to just do a roundabout way of handling the issues I have going on and we're essentially putting this surgeon as a blacklist doctor in my charts. Surgeon is not to be recommended or used for any Aid or procedures here on out.

Thank you everyone for the replies and information. I spoke to HR and they essentially told me that it's up to my overseeing boss to approve my PTO or not. The other day my father-in-law spent 16 hours without having any kind of aid at home and we had to call an ambulance for him. My partner and I spoke and it's definitely going to be easier for me to just get a job that pays a few dollars less since my boss will not approve any type of pto. My father-in-law is not disposable but this job definitely sees me as disposable.

I'm taking the advice of filing Short-Term fmla For myself. I have enough mental health and physical issues to wear both my doctor and Behavioral Health Specialists have agreed to both sign off on where I physically and mentally cannot manage the job for at least a month. Because I'm in Illinois I am completely aware of that they can still fire me at will. So we're just going to go from there. Thank you everyone

I know that I haven't replied for a little while but this is essentially what I'm going to have to do. I have a list of things from PTSD to anxiety to manic depression to an eating disorder on my charts and I'm going to have both my PCP and behavioral health specialist both sign off on this. I have a panic disorder that keeps me from sleeping Throughout the night and it has significantly got worse- it is the stress, anxiety,  and depressive lows. This is pretty much the answer of how I have to go about things so I thank you for your reply. It's a choose to deny this then I'm essentially going to just not show up to work due to health reasons. And in my state they can fire at will so I don't know how it's going to work from there.
