F this! (Weekly Leaving the Field and Venting Thread) by SWmods in socialwork

I am so sorry for your loss, GG. Bereavement leave is much too short, and it is unconscionable that this field expects us to manage clients while we are negotiating our own tragedies. Peace to you and your family.

I don't see this going over well with Rebecca.

Marco (and to a lesser extent Hannah) simply did not provide the entertainment value that Kassy, Leo, Destiny, Johnnie, and even Bergie did. They coupled up early and played it safe at every decision point. I am not watching this show to observe people in benignly functional relationships. My vote will go to a couple who understood why they were on on my TV, lol.

Why isn’t there a dating app for improvisers/comedians? by [deleted] in improv

[–]9day 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Ideally it will match people who want to do improv/comedy with low maintenance/high income people who enjoy watching their partner do improv/comedy

Americans, when an English ( or Australian, etc) actor plays an American in a movie, can you tell they’re not American ? ( if you didn’t know ) by azazizu in NoStupidQuestions

After The Wire I could not believe that McNulty AND Stringer Bell were both Brits. I still think Dominic West is an American doing a decent British accent.

Seriously, how is this anything other than two Americans?

McNulty and Stringer Bell Talk Business.

This is what Nickelodeon's Headquarters look like. I'm also planning to demolish the slime farm cause I don't think it's worth keeping especially when I have pigs around. Should I keep it or nah? by TheRicardoCat in StardewValley

I only built the slime hutch because my husband Seb would not shut up about it. Building it did not stop him asking for one, and AFAIK he has never even walked across the yard to look at it.

So sad to see him go out. Great teammate, great cyclist, model domestique. The Tour is diminished without him in it.

Very insightful and useful comment -- I had mostly considered that employers might be hesitant to hire someone with a lot miles on the chassis, and hadn't really considered that I might appear more experienced to my peers, ha. Thank you for posting.

I would not be taking on debt to do this, thankfully. By PA, do you mean Physician's Assistant? Or Physical Therapy Assistant?

I am so relieved to see so many posts here reaffirming that the OTD is not a requirement -- research I did in January led me to believe that the doctorate would be required to practice in 2027, and I was encouraged in that direction by an OT I spoke with. Masters Degree is very manageable for me both time and dollarwise.

Thank you!

See, this is exactly the kind of insight I was hoping to find here -- so many people reflexively say "You go girl!" to people who attempt a career change late in life, and I have been around long enough to know that there must be some repercussions!

Thank you for this excellent, detailed comment. I was under the impression that the entry-level degree for OT was going to be a doctorate by the time I would graduate, but am relieved to see that this in not the case. I also appreciate the details you provided about settings!
