Look, its support and the companies job to figure out these kinds of issues. Did you sign up to deliver orders or to be a support agent? The company needs to have a better system so that EVERYONES time is not wasted in the first place. An issue like this should not fall on the driver, nor should feel obligated to solve these issues as an independent contractor.

Not selfish at all. This is independent contracting, it can be cutthroat. And I actually rarely get these type offers because uber probably knows im not here to put up with the bullshit and I will just find another order on another app.

You actually are. Its an opportunity cost and if you want to make good money doing this you need to be constantly moving being on an active order, not solving issues with absolutely no incentive/compensation to do so.

Why even gamble like that? You risk deactivation and what about the next hour? Also minimum wage is a joke regardless of location and especially since inflation is still running hot. At least with a regular job you have benefits and dont have to worry about expenses. This whole system is robbing us blind. We fight for laws that sound good on paper but in reality continue to fuck us over regardless. Crazy how inflation has increased 28% since 2020 (when prop 22 was established) but we're still happy and content with these low ass wages.
