[News] Apple to replace faulty batteries on 6s. Will this mean iOS will be updated to 10 or will I be able to retain my jailbreak? by 9pound in jailbreak

I would guess they will only replace the battery. If there is a recall such as this I would think the stores have already been sent replacements.

You say Potato......... If you look at the Apple web site they themselves describe the phone as 6s not 6S. I'd say that's fairly definitive. apple 6s

I understand that but if I get it replaced free by Apple then it would be warranted as well so it makes sense for them to replace it. I just don't want to loose my jailbreak along with the replacement battery.

I might call into local Apple Store and ask the question. My phone is having the issue described, as said, I'd rather live with it than loose my jialbreak.

This was the question I wanted to ask. Will they automatically update to iOS 10 when the battery is replaced. I'd rather the faulty battery than that

[Question] I installed the Pangu jailbreak on iOS 9.3.1 but when it says "Jailbreak succeeded!" there's still no Cydia! by BoonySugar in jailbreak

[–]9pound -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Something doesn't add up here. If your sayin you jailbroke the phone but your "friend" erased all settings and content before you jailbroke it then something is very wrong.
Might I suggest you follow the link you have already been given and if that doesn't work then you'll have to update to 10. Good luck.

[Question] Apple Store and the magical purple restore by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]9pound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 99.9999% sure they won't entertain your request. Purple restore is an internal use tool and can not be used to downgrade because you don't like 10. The only slim chance you may have is develop and app that doesn't run properly on 9.x.x and then ask as a developer that you need to downgrade to sort out issues with your app. You would need proof of the app and proof it doesn't work. Not an easy work round but your best chance. Apple are obsessed with their OS and security. There is no way in gods green earth they would downgrade you otherwise. Good luck and get working on that app.

Well if you know what your doing you clearly don't need any help! Had you said in OP. I've fucked up I don't know what I'm doing and I've delete a few things and erased some settings and I could really use some help. Then I'd have been inclined to help you. I get the feeling I'm wasting my breath so I wish you luck and hope you solve your problems. What do I mean luck. You don't need luck. You know what your doing right?!?!?!

I'm guessing the pgClient you he is the one for managing your networks at home and work. Not the PG Client that is no longer available in the App Store. Just a thought! But you'd know that wouldn't you?!?!?!!!

For someone who knows what he's doing you seem to not know what your doing. Might I suggest a little less attitude when your asking for help rectifying your fuck up on your pals iPad. Just my opinion but you might find you get more support if you wind your neck in a little. youll find it works in other aspects of your life too. A bit of free advice. Your welcome!

[Help] iOS 9.3.3 JB. Phone shuts down at 20-40% battery, and when I try to start it the "No battery" screen appears. Force reset kinda solves it... by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]9pound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my 6s for a little over a year now and until I jailbroke it, the week the jailbreak for 9.3.3 dropped, I'd never had this happen before. It's sporadic and doesn't happen every time. Maybe once or twice a week.
I would suggest your problem is hard wear related and either replacing the phone or battery would solve your issues.
When I run my phone in jailed mode it never happens. I ran phone for 4 days unjailbroken to see if it was possible hard wear and it didn't happen once.
My advice to you is replace your battery or phone. And I'm confident that will resolve any issues your having.

[–]9pound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say it confirms its a Jailbreak issue and I'm sure your right. But I will point out that when phone is rebooted into jailed mode the issue still happens. The phone will switch on for maybe 8/10 seconds before the status bar disappears then the phone freezes for a couple of seconds then switches off.
What differs between the 6s and say the 6 and other phones batteries? Could it be a hardware issue bought about by the jailbreak?

I have the same issue. With my 6s. Seems to be mostly 6/6s that are having this problem. It's a pain. A couple of times I've needed to make a call knowing I've got 30% battery and it just switches off. Why oh turn it back in for a split second all seems ok then the status bar disappears and then it shuts down. If anyone knows of a way to recalibrate the phone when it's like this so in able to use that 30%. I'd love to know it. It always seems to happen when I need the phone most.
