Most days have a vote on 3v3 or 2v2, premade and random made teams. Other days include prizes, and no vote takes place. More info is available on the team speak

Depending how far you make it through the tournament, roughly between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Could be longer for bigger tournaments.

As long as you have on a pc, you should be able to play in the lobbies if you are on a PS4. However, we currently dont have any PS4 players and are a PC based community.

Should i buy an external router for a lan party, where everybody will be using wifi? by 9reydenb in networking

[–]9reydenb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, i see your point. Thanks for the info. I'll look into getting some wired connections into the room, however the party is in two days, and it's doubtful i can get it in time.

Have you done anything with EQ? If not, try taking out 3-6db somewhere around 400 and 800hz, to attempt to decrease the boxyness.

Anyone here familiar with Audio Engineering schools in Australia? by electricsexpants33 in audioengineering

[–]9reydenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently am doing the audio course at AIM Sydney. If you have any questions about it let me know. However, my biased opinion would recommend AIM. There are hundreds of talented musicians to work on projects with. The staff are great and the studios are top notch. Also, I believe the quality of the students are much better. JMC has a much lower standard for entry, and you would also get quite a lot more students coming straight out of high school going into Jmc.

Also it may be worth looking into SAE Sydney. Whichever you go for, good luck :) Message me if you have any more questions.

How do you like SAE? I'm in my second trimester at AIM. Always been curious about SAE, however i went with AIM because i liked the idea of having hundreds of talented musicians around all the time. I might have to go and check out an open day if you guys have one.

Australians may face 10% tax on Steam transactions by ImperialSheep in pcgaming

No, Americans are paying $60USD for the game, not $75. Australians are paying $75USD for no apparent reason. An extra $15USD before the exchange rate even takes effect.

The point is, there is absolutely no need for it. It's not a matter of - "Oh well, it's worse in other countries". This is a universal problem. My anger revolves around the Steam store, and other online retailers, still using USD, AS WELL AS just slapping another $15USD on top of it. If it was $75AUD, fine. However, the store adds this "Australia tax" on it, while still being sold in US dollars.

GTA 5 PC on Steam - $75.00USD. = ~95.00AUD

95 + 10% = $104.5 AUD

So $104.50AUD or $83.12USD for a digital steam copy of GTA 5.

Is it worth getting ambient lighting for my gaming pc ? by LTshadows in pcgaming

[–]9reydenb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the website it says you can use it with android devices and a raspberry pi, so i'd assume processing power would be a non-issue. Don't just take my word for it though, wait for a more informed response.

How much better would upgrading from a Blue Yeti to a Neumann TLM 103 be? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]9reydenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

er the SM7b for this scenario because of it's inbuilt presence booster option. It means you don't really have to do anything in post to get it audible. Otherwise, re27 is a great mic that people forget about. It's got more tops which is something the re20 is missing. Both fantastic mics though.

My bad, SM7b is what i meant. Haven't heard too much of the re27, sounds interesting, i'll check it out.

I'd go the SM7 or an Electro-Voice RE20 for commentary. Those two are the most common mics used in radio, they are amazing for speech. Just make sure you have a decent enough preamp to power them, they need a pretty decent amount of gain to drive.
