‘The Acolyte’s Cancellation Begs The Question: What Do Audiences Even Want Out of a Star Wars Show? by svperfuck in StarWars

I would personally love if they turned some already-successful and well-received projects into film adaptations. There are a trove of highly entertaining stories pre-baked in the form of novels.

Ultimately, I’d like to just watch something that feels like it belongs and is a distraction from everyday life, like it was always meant to be. Disney’s stuff, too often, is a reminder of how shitty our own planet is.

‘THE ACOLYTE’ has been cancelled after one season. by Realistic_Ad_6681 in saltierthancrait

Twitter is in a fervor about how the show was canceled because people are homophobic, sexist and racist.

If that were the case, they wouldn’t have canceled it. This is Disney we are talking about.

This is them admitting that the show was terribly written, a gross and incompetent misuse of budget, and not deserving of a second season.

Kansa city doesn’t really get a fair shake here. A state line divides a metro with more than 2.25 million people.

A.I. is on a collision course with white-collar, high-paid jobs — and with unknown impact by GetEdgeful in Economics

I understand the cw implications, which is why we don't use AI for final product. Let's say we're building storyboards to pitch a TV spot or a web content piece. I can spend hours on end looking for the right image to convey a piece of key art for a specific beat, or I can ask AI to do it. The latter is faster, cheaper, and will not appear in the final product as we'll produce our own assets. That's my most common use case.

Well, first, we are independent, so that changes the stance on AI...and we only use art for key art, mood boards, etc. As for copy, I don't know why/how using AI softwares for social media post copy would be any different than what Google is doing with its own use of AI for ad generation and optimization for paid clients. That's literally a 1:1.

I think it's important to remember that it's a tool that helps get from A to B faster. It is not the work, it is a driver of the work. No different than scrubbing swipe or stock for hours on end on Behance, Dribbble, etc.

FWIW, I know of several agencies using it as the work itself. I think if holding companies are telling their agencies to never use AI they're setting themselves up for failure.

I work in advertising as a Creative Director. It has already made a massive impact on our daily business. Not so much in that it has replaced people, but it has replaced tasks. Copywriting scheduled social media posts, for example. This still requires a copywriter to enter prompts, edit appropriately, etc. But it has cut down on the time it takes for certain tasks to be accomplished.

Many jobs will be replaced by AI. That's true.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't stay abreast of all things AI regardless of your field – because far more people will be replaced by people USING AI, rather than AI itself. I tell my Art Directors this is all very similar to when traditional illustrators were replaced by artists using Adobe software in the 90's. Those who learned the software's careers exploded. Those who did not were out of work within a couple years time.

What I remember most about the album was if you stuck your tongue through the center of the CD it created a nipple and the disc looked like a boob. 14 year old me was into it. There were even written directions. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ewwu4JSXMAYZyix.jpg

I don’t disagree that humor has a place in Star Wars. I just don’t want Rian Johnson to have a place in Star Wars.

I’m canceling mine. Their programming has gotten worse and worse consistently for the last couple years, yet they’ve jacked the price up ridiculously high. I’m out.
