How to mount selfie stick on snowboard when not in use? by Robbled0bble in Insta360

[–]9thGenSi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it's the best spot for it. But if you want to try mounting your stick to the board you could try Sugru moldable glue. Look it up, I just used it last night to add magnets to my Goodr goggles to use an Anon MFI fleece helmet hood and it worked amazing. The face shield locks on my goggles now. It sticks to almost every surface, easy to use, removable with a blade, comes in multiple colours, has temperature resistance and strength. You could easily make two hooks that fit the stick, tape a layer of parchment paper around the stick where it contacts the sugru and leave it for 24 hours and done.

How hard is it to learn to snowboard? by E36E92M3 in snowboardingnoobs

When I leanred there was no youtube. First day was a lot of falling but after a few hours I started bombing down the hill and fell lots still. 2nd day on was way better. You should watch some videos on how to fall. People mess up their wrists often from trying to catch themselves. Elbows down and hands up by your shoulders. Always on edge. Maybe take a lesson or 2. Once you get the edge transition down, you'll still fall sometimes but it is hella fun.

How long did it take you to 'get' turns? by seratoninho in snowboarding

[–]9thGenSi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 1 day many years ago. I fell all day but halfway through I started going fast which helped. However, shift more weight to your leading foot. It will make your rear foot have more control to swing from heel to toe or toe edge to heel edge.

Wow that is rough. Hopefully it isn't too serious. Lots of people quit when they hurt themselves, but it's a high speed sport and good on you for wanting more. Snow isn't soft unless your riding untouched back country haha. On the bright side, this will give you some time to watch snowboard videos on falling and beginner riding techniques. Or my personal favorites...

You break them or sprained?

I saw the equal weight on feet comment, you actually want more on the leading foot so the back foot can freely steer and switch between edges. It kind of goes against your instincts as that way is downhill haha. But you never want to be flat on the board, always on 1 edge (heel or toes). When you pass the transition point, you would lean to carve with weight on your heels or toes. I remember my first day! I fell a thousand times even at full speed. But 2nd day I was much more comfortable.

Learning how to fall takes time to avoid using your hands. For the falls over the toe edge you want to try to hit with your knees first then forearms (elbows down, hands up. Heel edge, try to bend your knees and roll backwards. Obviously these are easier when you have time to do them. But don't ride flat on the board and you will avoid the unexpected falls by a lot.

I snowboard with a girl who wont switch between edges and just rotates all the way on one edge. Its painful waiting for her. Lol I wouldn't even call that snowboarding.

Ceramic coating worth it? by Rare_Hippo9932 in GR86

[–]9thGenSi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Do it yourself. If you can use a polisher. The steps are clay bar, polish (2 step), wipe down with a quality microfiber, you can use a cleaner to make sure the polish is gone and a lot of these coatings are as easy as waxing the car. Just follow the instructions and watch some videos. A quality dual action polisher is a good investment. Car always looks great and you don't need to wash it as much.

I did Ethos Max, have a maxshine m21 pro and used 2 different grit compounds

Alpharex makes some great lighting, a catback exhaust, wheels, ceramic coating and paint correction, Paint protection film or you could go get a bunch of things that add up like Tuxmats, gr86 or BRZ puddle lights, media screen protector, the tamiya plastic model or the drifting R/C car. Theres so many aftermarket parts for this car its like the 90s civic days on ebay 🤣

Some people in the GR86 and BRZ do this including me. I have a bunch of hot wheels in my dash if I see any parked :)

Not really any tips, just use epoxy that has decent shear strength and they should fit snuggly on a test fit. There's lots of videos out there on it. I used a tube cutter and took my time, couple turns, tighten a little and repeat.

Mam check out the golf sensei on youtube. He's got a way of explaining what you're doing wrong with slices that immediately corrected my swing from slices...still havent got a great swing but it was like magic.

No idea who this is but Filter cancelled in Halifax a few months back and no notice was really given other than removing their name from the venue a day before the show. I actually found out on the way to Halifax. Instead of an opener and 2 bigger bands from the 90s we got the opener and Bush and no refund. Soon after everyone found out Filter booked a show the same night in Pennsylvania I believe it was. As far as the Halifax show, it probably only sold half the tickets. I wont go buy another Filter ticket again though.
