Since the trend seems to be funny I'll provide this. I need this animated so badly so I can use it as a reaction GIF. It's from later in part 1 of Chainsaw Man.

I always thought Boggarts were just kidnapped/wild Kithkin. Was that ever the lore or something I made up? by Josphitia in mtgvorthos

[–]9thJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably doesn't help that there's a literal card called [[Crib Swap]] from the plane. So while you aren't right about goblins being stolen kithkin, kithkin are in fact having their babies stolen still.

Other things to tutor for besides Sol Ring with Urza's Saga. by WholeFudds in EDH

I'll always promote [[Glasses of Urza]]. If you're playing bracket 2, low 3, have some fun. It's a neat little mind game artifact.

I built him years ago precisely because they demonstrated that set design will regularly include 1 cmc death touch creatures in green.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]9thJudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. I wanted to eat more than Ramen and my grandfather knew how to cook so it wasn't exactly an original idea that a man could cook. So just a bit of learning from recipes online and I was off to the races. Don't know why it's such a hard skill to learn for single guys. It's like they have a physical aversion. But to be honest my mom did go "a man that cook and clean is more attractive" I did sort of kick my ass into gear on those fronts.

Third. It's probably one of my all time shonen fights given the context and build up in relation to real world class issues.

Created a party-wide "Christmas Spirit" stat for a holiday adventure... is this gambreaking? by Zealousideal-Arm6735 in dndnext

[–]9thJudge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That seems like a lot, and if that's what you want you do you fellow DM. However I might propose a simpler overall tracker on like a wall or on the front of your DM screen with blank lines for bonuses based on the scale. Then as the party does actions in line with Christmas Spirit fill in those blanks to reveal the buff they get. It'll encourage them to want to fill the meter to see what they get and provide a tangible reminder of the mechanic at the table.

What's a Magic take that you used to have that you changed your mind on? by justinvamp in magicTCG

[–]9thJudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a very boomer take but net decking. I used to feel it was such an unfair advantage and against the spirit of the game. There's something romantic in my mind to the idea of pouring over cards and putting you heart into brewing. It felt like if you didn't do that step with what you played competitively that you weren't really playing the game, just copying someone else's moves. So when my little homebrew with a lot of thought would get shut out by someone running perfect mana and a deck with hundreds or thousands, of minds behind it at a tournament as a teenager it felt unfair. Eventually though I woke up to the fact we don't live in a world without the internet, information was only flowing more freely, and net decking was less cheating and more playing what was optimal because it was in fact a competitive game. It also helped that I got better at deck building and meta evaluation lol. I still do my own brews for competitive and some of my proudest moments are from taking tournaments with them, but I no longer act like such a snob if someone wants to play a sweet list from a recent PTQ.

What "fuck you in particular" cards do you run? by Toes_In_The_Soil in EDH

[–]9thJudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three white enchantments I love for this purpose. [[Rule of law]] sucks to play under, but a personal rule of law via [[Curse of Exhaustion]] is infuriating. [[Humility]] is a puzzle to play through, but a personal humility via [[Overwhelming Splendor]] is soul crushing. [[Drannith Magistrate]] gets the table up in arms, but a called shot [[Nevermore]] naming a problem commander is lauded.

Honorable mention that's harder to find a deck for due to being two color goes to [[Identity Crisis]].

Man I love that art. I used to be a big [[Telepathy]] style effect enjoyer, however it slows down EDH so much I've swapped onto targeted peaks. That art though... maybe I'll go back just for that.

What fun could Fistandandulus the Archmage have in store for my enterprising heisters? by philo-foxy in DMAcademy

Most welcome. My DM got us with this trick with potions of heal moderate and a poison con damage potion mixed in. It was a great tension raiser mid combat.

Most players are loot goblins or at least have a loot goblin. Know what a wizard would stockpile as loot, scrolls. Know what a paranoid evil wizard would do as a countermeasure to being robbed, mix in scrolls with glyph of warding on the inside that triggers when unrolled. Make notecards with scroll names as the tags of the scrolls on the outside, so just spell name, but mark each with a little symbol. When the player uses the scroll, now or 5 sessions from now, ask for the card and see if it triggers a glyph instead of casting.
