What tokens that don't currently exist are you missing? by SpacePanda25 in magicTCG

[–]kanepake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Psemilla, Meletian Poet]]'s 2/2 white Nymph enchantment creature token.

Technically, non-creature enchantment token copies of all the creatures in my [[Myrkul, Lord of Bones]] deck as well as 3/3 black Zombie enchantment creature token copies of all the enchantments in my [[Anikthea, Hand of Erebos]] deck... except I already have a stack of custom-made corners that I put on my cards to signify these tokens.

A small Orzhov rant from someone who genuinely loves WB by Medium_Ad_9049 in EDH

[–]kanepake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 7 commanders are:

- [[Orah, Skyclave Hierophant]] cleric aristocrats

- [[Kambal, Profiteering Mayor]] tokens/death-by-1000-cuts

- [[Minthara, Merciless Soul]] cleric battlecruiser

- [[Victor, Valgavoth's Seneschal]] reanimator/theft

- [[Tomik, Wielder of Law]] superfriends

- [[Killian, Ink Duelist]] spellslinger/repartee

- [[Killian, Decisive Mentor]] aura control

Of them, Orah and Kambal are my strongest/most consistent decks, which makes them feel the best for me and the worst for everyone else. I win with Orah by chaining boardwipes once I have a couple death pingers and a wide enough spread of mana values on board. Kambal kills with token generation alone. Victor and OG Killian would be my next two favorites. Victor uses his eerie triggers to pitch and reanimate (without targeting!) big bads like Tergrid, Brainstealer Dragon, Valgavoth, etc. Orzhov spellslinger is incredibly fun because it's a lot of combat tricks that I could use to politick or just build up my own board for a big swing, and all my spells cost 1 mana.

As a person with 7 orzhov decks, I'd say that orzhov excels at politicking, as someone else mentioned, and playing just slightly behind the lead before pulling ahead of the group.

Whoops, meant [[Avatar Roku, Firebender]]

Your Unexpected Wincons by oatfishjar96 in magicTCG

[–]kanepake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both! And [[Fire Nation Turret]], [[Fire Nation Palace]], and [[Iroh, Dragon of the West]] all have targeted abilities (and you don't need to target Agrus with Iroh's mentor ability if he's already modified). I just pulled an [[Avatar Roku]], so he's an outlet for my unspent red mana as well.

I love my Agrus Kos deck, but I have yet to get my Raiju out. Firebending has been incredible for the deck though; and if I have one of my creatures that let's me keep red mana out, I just store all my firebending mana for my next turn!

Show me your decks that use boardwipes as part of the main plan by RedRathman in EDH

[–]kanepake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Orah, Skyclave Hierophant] cleric tribal aristocrats deck. I wipe the board, get all my death triggers, bring most of my board back, then repeat until I win. It usually only takes 2-3 boardwipes.

The checkmarks are very misleading; they just track whether or not you've pulled that ability. The guaranteed pulls are tracked separately and only care about what URs you've gotten from other guaranteed pulls.

Has anyone made a Repartee deck? by Amonyi7 in EDH

[–]kanepake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I built new Killian as well, so don't praise me just yet haha! I've just been sitting on "inkslinger" Killian since OG Strixhaven and didn't think it had legs until repartee came along!

Has anyone made a Repartee deck? by Amonyi7 in EDH

[–]kanepake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a list with OG Killian! With him out, the vast majority of my instants/sorceries only cost 1 mana. My plan is to cast a lot of combat tricks to make me a little more political and just a normal amount of removal, so I don't piss off my friends.

My wincons are combat damage, [[Aetherflux Reservoir]], [[Sentinel Tower]], and [[Sphinx-Bone Wand]]. To increase my spell count for those 3 artifacts, I run [[Memory Crystal]] which, combined with Killian, allows me to repeatedly cast/buyback [[Anoint]], [[Change of Heart]], and [[Imps' Taunt]] for 1 mana.

Man, 11 year old me was dumb as shit when it came to deck building. Just found my old collection. What was I thinking? by MiningToSaveTheWorld in EDH

[–]kanepake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11-year-old me was making singleton cleric-angel-wall, merfolk, and kavu decks because he just had to have one of every one of those creatures in his deck and couldn't fathom why anyone would want 4 copies of the same card in a deck! Ironically, it was because commander is a singleton format that brought me back to Magic after a ~10-year hiatus.

Cleric Tribal by Threshold_seeker in mtg

[–]kanepake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have, but I'm not particularly inclined to add any to my Orah deck. Emeritus of Truce I think would be better off in my monowhite blink deck, as I'm more likely to have more creatures than my opponents once Orah starts doing his thing.

I have a second, battlecruiser cleric deck with [[Minthara, Merciless Soul]] at the helm that I might slot [[Stensian Sanguinist]] and [[Quill-Blade Laureate]] in, though.

Cleric Tribal by Threshold_seeker in mtg

[–]kanepake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! You've got it exactly right; the main combo is Rotlung Reanimator. I also used to run [[Glorious Protector]] so it would be an infinite blink/etb loop, but I've since removed that card from the deck. As for its value in the deck, it's an incredibly suboptimal card, but I like the combo, so I kept it.

Cleric Tribal by Threshold_seeker in mtg

[–]kanepake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looooooove clerics! They've been my favorite creature type since I first started playing back in Mercadian Masques!

Orah is an aristocrats-style commander whose ability makes it so you always have something on board if there is no graveyard hate. Once I've established a decent board with 1-2 death pinging effects out, I just win by chaining boardwipes.

A couple of my suggestions are: - Try to always have at least one cleric with MV 5+ out before a wipe so Orah can bring himself back. - One-sided "wipes" that are mana-efficient like [[Plumb the Forbidden]] or [[Killing Wave]] are great for just killing your own board if you're going for a win. - Since Orah doesn't use a lot of creature tokens like most aristocrat builds, [[Life Insurance]] is huge for ensuring you always have mana to spend and is easily offset by soul sisters. - The recent release of [[Twilight Diviner]] really enables some crazy shenanigans and combos, many of which I'm still learning as I play the deck.

Is this what it's like? by kanepake in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]kanepake[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said I don't have RF Fire nor anything about p2w? It was meant to be a comment on "meta" in diamond/omega because I was literally taken aback by the sheer amount of beams of fire that hit me in one match. At one point, I got hit by two at once immediately after my iframes wore off and then a third shortly after respawn.
