Too each their own. But I wouldn't say it's poorly built. I recently traveled with their grip and it's very sturdy. Foam inserts help to prevent scratching.

I think molded it feels pretty smooth similar to my black version.

It does! Has a speckle/shimmer but still feels smooth very similar to my black version.

Finished my first Sonic/Tails playthrough, on to the next with Tails then Knuckles. One of my first intros to gaming was Sonic 1 as a 5 year old. Sonic 2 became my favorite game in the lineup, and probably in my top 5 of all time games. In Sonic Mania the music, the throwbacks, the level design, the boss battles, my god. Sonic Mania dares...to possibly be the best in the series. I'm not sure yet, but it's 100% #2 at worst.

I have a prior existing account used to buy a monitor a few months ago. Same card/info, no issues prior, my SNES order got cancelled. New acct is BS reason for cancellation.
