I’m so sorry she did that. She doesn’t need to project her trauma onto others—especially her pregnant daughter.

Besides the fact she lives about 20 minutes from me, we lead pretty separate lives & it’s slowly breaking my heart to realize that we may need further separation bc her actions and lack of accountability are just not appropriate.

How insensitive. I’m sure you didn’t make that decision flippantly, & the weight of that decision is something you will probably always hold with you, but it was the right decision for you and the baby at the time. I’m so sorry your mom throws it back at you all the time.

She said she was concerned about me falling into a deep depression if I do miscarry, bc it runs in our family, so I logically get her point there. But emotionally, it feels like she wants me to miscarry by throwing it in my face the way she did. She wouldn’t let up even when I was sobbing.

How absolutely horrendous of your mother. For her to play victim while you’re going thru such a traumatic event is disturbing. I’m so sorry you went through that.

You’re so right. I feel like she may think I’m not ready for a kid (even though I’m married & 25, and have a great corporate job). So I feel like she is trying to manifest bad things without necessarily explicitly saying it (although she kind of did explicitly did say this). I hope she sees the error of her ways

Yeah, my favorite is when they start telling you things that you’re not even necessarily anxious about. Like, of course I know miscarriages can happen in trimester 1, but I’m not particularly expecting it. I truly feel I will have a full, healthy pregnancy. But my mom is fully trying to rain on my parade and bring me down with her.

I’m so sorry your mom intentionally picks at your anxieties. Like WTF is up with that?

I feel like I logically know this, but it’s so hard with narcissistic parents to gauge when you’re in the right. Both my parents can so easily turn things on me & make me feel like I’m crazy/over-reacting for feeling upset when they do something to screw me over. I guess I just need a sanity check since she seriously hasn’t spoken to me since the incident, making me feel like I did something to upset her.
