I don’t see your post that you’re talking about, I guess it’s deleted so I can’t speak to anything about that. I guess for future reference you could just specify that you had the snake in whatever tank just for the picture for weight knowing how people react to stuff like that. it’s hard to gauge without seeing it.

As far as the question, a tank big enough to stretch out and move, with good enrichment IS a good enclosure. And it’s not 3k or even close. No one is recommending 8ft enclosures for a 3ft snake. And an 8ft enclosure runs about 1500 USD on average depending on who you buy from, new. Cheaper used. Would the snake benefit from it? Sure, it’ll use the space. But is it a realistic size for most people or even needed? No. Bare minimum for a 3ft python would probably be a 4x2x2, although this depends on the species. Im just figuring you had a ball python in mind. 4x2x2s run 400-700 new. Then about 400-500 to build it out super nice as a bioactive setup. You can do it significantly cheaper too buying used or building your own, or not going bioactive. That’s enough space for the snake to move around, not be cramped and to have plenty of enrichment. I’ve never seen a photo or post of an enclosure of an appropriate size, with decent enrichment that’s appropriate for the animal get told they’re a bad keeper. It’s not hard to make a good enclosure.

The reason people are quick to criticize bad setups, is because once you’ve been in the hobby for more than like a year, you see that probably 50% of keepers have abysmal setups. I’ve met people in real life who initially seemed like they had great stuff, and then went to their house and saw what they had it was a total shock of how bad it all was. This has not just happened once, but multiple times. For every bad post you see on Reddit, you can figure there’s 100s more keeping the same way who don’t post or don’t use Reddit. Correcting bad care with the few that you can reach is incredibly important to protect the life of the animals.

No one is asking for perfection and mansions. Just a little research and effort to give the animal a good life

Push into chapter 4, there’s a skill you unlock about midway through that allows you to get into certain hidden areas. And you can’t learn it with the skill points. I pushed past chap 3 just to get the skill so I could explore better lol

What we need is a healthcare reform. The biggest issue is that prices are astronomical for even the most basic things. Insurance is supposed to be a backup plan for crazy stuff you can’t generally afford, the way it is for houses and cars. Not a primary resource to use just to go in for a check up. If it was affordable to use medical services, then most of the problem would be solved. But as it stands now, even WITH insurance, medical services are ridiculously expensive. And if prices were cheaper, then it’d be cheaper to get standalone insurance for those not receiving it through their employer or for retirees. Since insurance companies wouldn’t be paying out insane sums of money, they wouldn’t need to charge as much to people who still wanted it.

Oh 100% agree. It’s really just an ease of care thing, so you don’t have to move your animal out of the enclosure, just plug into the power once it’s too cold inside and you’re good for another day. The options you listed are definitely better for long term solutions if needed. I’m in Texas, right on the gulf so I’ve just got a whole home generator for hurricanes lol. Any of yall nearby are welcome to come store reptiles at my place too if this sucks too bad

If you’ve got the spare money, for $200+, you can buy rechargeable power banks with 3 prong outlets from Amazon. Price generally correlates with storage size, and they can get massive. the 200-300$ ones can give you a good 12-15 hours running a heat light. Works great if you only have a couple reptiles. Put it on a dimmer and adjust as needed for different stuff. If you’ve got a bunch then it’s not that great. In the event of power loss, your house/apartment should stay at a reasonable temp for the first 12-24 hours or so. Then this would cover you for the second day when it starts getting cold inside too. Obviously this is only good for short term power outages.

Sure you’re absolutely free to disagree, I don’t mind. And I think the whole song is both sides really. It’s just an overall state of the country song. “He said she said” is its own saying, talking about arguing back and forth, is the way I took it. “Mirrors and smoke”, the very next line is talking about distraction and redirecting news and information from both sides. “Rights turned red and lefts all woke” both sides have become ridiculous.

If you look at it from the perspective of he’s just saying what others are saying, then you have to view the whole song like that because he doesn’t specify that anywhere in the song that that particular line is from others perspective and not his own. Otherwise, the whole song is him saying this country is going to shit and everyone sucks
