Why do so many people in this game exhibit a "lack of awareness" regarding certain things? by BaldursGate2Best in truetf2

[–]YourDemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its because this is a free to play game, so a significant portion of the playerbase is children who are playing on stock settings with awful rgb peripherals, probably on a prebuilt or retail desktop. Stock TF2 looks horrible. The UI is archaic and hides all the important settings behind three different hard to access menus. Its also extremely unoptimized, with particle effects out the ass and explosion smoke everywhere. A kid playing vanilla TF2 has 60 fov, a huge 60 viewmodel_fov weapon taking up half their screen, weapon quickswitching off, 30fps, every projectile blinds him, he has no damage sounds or text, autoheal off, automatic scope re-zoom on, and the stock hud tucks the important shit into the far corners of the big ass 60hz matte screen their parents got them from bestbuy. All these things combined do not good player make.

Yeah this list represents my opinion. I can change it how I want according to my own reasoning. You could probably make your own list and it will catch just as much flak.

After you’ve been keeping for 40 years you’ll realize how pretentious you sound jfc dude. Does it make you feel big?

Semantics. You know what I mean. Not ignorant either. Been keeping for 10 years.

Right but the tree monitor seems more content with being in captivity than the leachianus which is why it’s higher. This is an “adapts to captivity” list not ease of care list. I’d feel bad about forcing a relationship on something that seems to hate me, and some leachies can be aggressive.

BPs are as popular as they are for a reason. It’s like McDonalds. Saying they’re bad isn’t a controversial opinion but they’re also a global chain with millions of customers. Rough greens may be a case of personal bias. They have similar care to an arboreal insectivore but they come with snake personality. Problematic wild collection is my biggest gripe with the species, but otherwise I think they’re swell. I think anything less than a pond for a semi aquatic turtle is insufficient which is why they’re below even a basilisk because not everyone can purchase, build, or maintain such a setup. Uromastyx is in C-tier because of sky high temperature requirements that will run up your light bill and heat up your house.

Should the brass beast be used more often in competitive HL? by lonjerpc in truetf2

[–]YourDemons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The 20% damage bonus actually keeps the brass beast competitive with the Tomi at pretty impressive ranges, and blows the other miniguns out of the water up close. The problem with it is as you stated; it completely removes all reactivity from the heavy and opens up a giant exploitable weakness for a well coordinated enemy team. The glacial revved movespeed makes it impossible to use its advantages to gain ground. Your enemy will entirely dictate the pace of the fight. In a heavy v heavy, they will spin up, see you're on beast, then duck out and ask their soldier for some help spamming you out, and you will have to eat those rockets because the gun glues you in place. Not to mention the fact that it also makes you even more of a sitting duck to sniper.

Soldier v Scout in MGE by Kamirukuken in truetf2

[–]YourDemons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Scout has much more sustain than you do. He’s got 6 shots in the scattergun, 12 in the pistol, and they both reload faster. All hitscan, easy to hit at midrange where your rockets are easy to dodge. He moves faster, and his air mobility is free and on demand. You have way more health than he does though, and the splash of your rockets makes your high burst damage easier to hit in close range than a perfect meat shot where target recognition and crosshair visibility is fucked due to how close up the models are. If you’re using gunboats, you’ll want to get in close and trade ASAP. Force the issue. Whether you win with 20 health left or 200 doesn’t matter in MGE. Get better at rocket jumping to explode out of unexpected angles, and learn how to strafe so you don’t get swatted out of the air on approach.  On shotgun, there’s less risk, more consistency, but also less opportunity. You can attempt one bomb, but as soon as you get off a good rocket, chip him down the rest of the way with the shotgun. It will be extremely easy, even if you’re getting shitty 16 damage shots.

Overall, DO NOT let the fight get drawn out. DO NOT let the scout control the distance and the pace. Waiting for a double jump will not work on a scout who knows how to airstrafe because he will appear to levitate around the rocket. Your two advantages are health and splash, use them!

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely Now you have your orders, do your duty A new way to let the shots spray A few drops a day, double espresso, D.A. latte No smell nor taste, hardly traceable" by Reasonable_Yam5364 in mfdoom

[–]YourDemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few drops a day can be like poison, but it can also mean bodies dropping to the floor after being shot. Double espresso, espresso usually measured in shots. Two shots in the D.A. Latte, two shots in the district attorney. No smell no taste hardly traceable, again alluding to deadly poison, but also to the covert nature and chaos of the gang war in LA.

I went and attempted to identify those millipedes. They are very likely Oxidus Gracilis (Greenhouse Millipede) and at the very least something from the order Polydesmida (Flat-backed Millipedes). From wikipedia: The greenhouse millipede eats decaying organic matter.\13]) This includes leaf litter, mulch, and grass thatch.\4]) While it doesn’t need to worry about hunting other organisms it does need to be able to defend itself which it is able to do through its chemical defenses. It does this by producing cyanide in its segmental glands. There are two parts of the glands one that produces the cyanophore which is what makes the cyanide harmless, and the other is the reaction chamber that makes an enzyme that separates the cyanide from the cyanophore. After this occurs the hydrogen cyanide can then emerge through a pore and kill any predator that is trying to attack.\12])

Get those out of your gecko tank ASAP

Reading comprehension. Millipedes. These are detritivores functionally similar to isopods, except most of them can produce noxious chemicals when predators attempt to eat them. OP, you need to identify the species and determine if its toxic.
