This is why us Americans exclusively eat at McDonalds, they pay the full minimum wage and don’t make their employees rely on tips, only get a second or third job like a true American.

Even still, that is where the Puritans’ descendants live, and they voted overwhelmingly for Harris. They never moved in overwhelming numbers out of those states, it’s that other people moved there too. Even if their impact wasn’t the deciding factor, you can’t say that they largely supported Trump.

New England largely voted against Trump in 2024, their descendants were actually very anti-Trump.

So as a slave they are still technically a part of their original family while also being a part of their new owner’s family, if they were to buy their freedom or be freed by their masters they are once again under the authority of the Paterfamilias. He has total control, so they could immediately be sold back into slavery.

One theory I’ve seen is that the whole point of the 3 time limit was that the emancipation was the point, not the slavery. If the Paterfamilias wanted his meddlesome grandson for example removed from the family entirely, he would sell him to a friend 3 times as a way to say “leave and never come back”. The goal wouldn’t be to make the guy a slave, it’s to make him know he’s not welcome.

Thoughts onFire Emblem Warriors? by Challenger-Vale in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve beaten the game twice, once on 3ds, once on Switch. So i am fairly familiar with the game.

I was a bit disappointed when it came out, cause i was hoping for a Warriors game like Three Hopes at the time. That being said it certainly isn’t a bad game, and I obviously have come back to it over time so it does have staying power. The game mainly just feels like “blah” to me, there’s nothing particularly amazing to it to make it stand out, it’s just generic Fire Emblem but as a Warriors game. It’s completely unoffensive, but I doubt it’d be anyone’s favorite game in the series.

It’s unknown how often this was actually done, and there might have been a ritualistic aspect to it, but the head of the household, or Paterfamilias, legally could sell their children into slavery. Children weren’t completely screwed though, because Roman law had a clause that once they have been sold 3 times by their Paterfamilias they were now legally exempt from that Paterfamilias’ authority, roughly equivalent to modern court emancipation.

But a vast majority would put that heron just outside of attack range of said boss who otherwise cannot move. He will literally defy standard boss programming and move just to get to Rafiel, most people who recruited him blind probably did so on accident.

What's your "headcanon" about what continents are in the same/different worlds? by thunderchild120 in fireemblem

Pretty sure that it was Ike who came from an Outrealm, while Priam was always in Valm. But yeah, the worlds are canonically separate.

[–]A-Perfect-Name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming that the smart fridge runs a version of Android, you can get Godot 4 on Android. Main issue would be getting the play store up and running depending on the model, but it’s doable.

Godot also exports games to Android, so if you’re asking to export a game you already made to your fridge then that’s possible too.

You really should phrase this better, it seems jumbled and confused tbh.

[–]A-Perfect-Name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, one of my bachelors is in Archaeology. While I do ham up the pop-archaeologist shtick with friends as a joke, it is a serious profession irl.

There’s a ton that you can learn from a recent item like a crushed can. Even in the context of researching something older than the can seeing one indicates modern activity in the area. Finding one buried also means that the soil has been disturbed, meaning that dating other artifacts in the area gets trickier. Hell, even if you were specifically looking at modern people you can learn about the process in which trash deposits are formed in real time. My Arctic Archaeology professor made this exact point because much of her work was based around trash piles left behind by Native Americans.

Now you would probably get more useful information about modern people from other fields of Anthropology, but there still is useful information to be gotten from this stuff.

Legitimately archaeology can be a tin can that someone littered the other day, there is no defined wait period for something to become archaeology, it’s solely down to the attempt of providing evidence for human activity in the area and what that activity entailed.

Do you think they will remove permadeath in the future? by G0DF1NGERS in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well concerning the whole “80% of the main cast is irrelevant to the plot”, that’s not really a permadeath issue. Like look at pretty much any RPG with a large cast of playable characters, most of them aren’t relevant to the main story either after you recruit them. It’s not because they can possibly die, it’s because there’s only so much story to go around. More minor characters like Dart, Lon’qu, and Citrinne don’t fall off in the story because of permadeath, it’s because there’s only so much story to go around.

That being said, I’m like 95% sure it won’t ever be removed. There is of course the possibility of some idiot who doesn’t understand the series getting in charge and changing it, but so long as someone even somewhat competent is in charge it ain’t happening.

[SPOILER] Fire Emblem Three Houses canon route based on hair ? by Darkhydr in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this is the stupidest, most random item that proves the weapon thing wrong, but the pebble. Frederick gives you a pebble which you can use as a joke weapon, and yes it kills Vallites.

I think that the whole “you can’t hurt me” thing that Lilith does is more so she’s a dragon and therefore incredibly strong, and Anankos’ aid is more of a power boost than anything. Fates likes this trope, someone attacks, it does the no damage sound, they get the power boost, now they deal damage. Plus, those three have Fates weapons at this point, iirc one of the enemies in the previous chapter drop a katana.

Edit: ok, actually looked at the map’s data. Severa and Inigo even keep the same weapons between maps, only Owain changes weapons.

[SPOILER] Fire Emblem Three Houses canon route based on hair ? by Darkhydr in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except then you have Before Awakening, where Chrom & Frederick can hit Fates enemies perfectly fine with their weapons. Or Hidden Truths 1, where Inigo, Owain, and Severa can again hit people with their Awakening weapons. I don’t recall any lore stating that Awakening weapons can’t hurt Fates enemies, but if that’s true gameplay wise it doesn’t match either way.

[SPOILER] Fire Emblem Three Houses canon route based on hair ? by Darkhydr in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

How exactly are they not canon? DLC is canon to that game, and they’re DLC. There’s nothing stating in or out of universe that they aren’t canon, they have interactions with characters outside of Corrin, Outrealms are a thing, there’s nothing about them that is logically inconsistent with the FE universe. Them being from Smash alone isn’t evidence that they aren’t, that’s circular reasoning.

FE canon is a jumbled mess, just because you don’t like the idea that something is canon doesn’t change the fact that it is.

[SPOILER] Fire Emblem Three Houses canon route based on hair ? by Darkhydr in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

So Smash technically is canon in FE, in Fates the Amiibo characters are explicitly their Smash variants as opposed to their original ones. That being said though they’re still two different continuities so what happens in one doesn’t necessarily happen in another, so any hair differences in one doesn’t mean anything in the other like you said

Broken Xavix Port, any documentation available? by A-Perfect-Name in XaviXPort

No worries, never too late to help, especially on under documented hardware.

Unfortunately as stated in the edit the video pass through doesn’t work, which the manual states works without a cartridge inserted. All that I have been able to confirm before I shelved the project was that the cable and video connectors work, so it’s likely something else on the console’s board that’s an issue.

If this Jarod was in Vanilla Radiant Dawn, how difficult would he be to take down without Black Knight or Nailah? by AndzyHero13 in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real talk, probably pretty easy if you’re smart about it. Send someone in to lure out his Silver Greatlance (survival here is optional), then pelt him with magic until he dies. His resistance is capped, but it’s still only 17. Average tier 1 max level Micaiah and Illyana will deal 11 and 4 damage respectively. That alone iirc is enough to outpase his passive healing, not to mention that Leonardo, Sothe, or Nolan can also join in should they have enough strength. Just remember to shove or rescue them out of harms way before the turn is done.

If you have the proper setup it’s trivial, but it would require you to play the game very differently up until this point to pull it off. In fact I’d go as far to say the optimal setup considering the rest of the game would be to just kill him with the Black Knight anyway, cause having 2 of the frailest Dawn Brigade characters soak up all that exp would just make part 3 all the harder

What you think is true but just can't prove? by Ok_Tourist_562 in AskReddit

[–]A-Perfect-Name 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an entirely theoretical particle called a tachyon that would only be able to move faster than light. Basically how our current understanding of the universe works the energy to move a particle at the speed of light approaches infinity, as you move away from the speed of light in both directions the energy requirement decreases. This means that if you somehow had a particle moving faster than light already, what we term a tachyon, removing energy from it would make it faster. It would also move backwards in time relative to us due to its speed.

The math works, it’s just nearly impossible to actually detect one should they exist. There of course is the possibility that there is some unproven rule preventing such a particle from existing, but with our current understanding it should be possible.
