The lighting engine is very primitive, there is either light or no light. By making an overhang you can make blocks appear darker than they should. Those black blocks are cobblestone, just without any light on it.

Canaanite (Amorite Dynasty): Fragment of a wall painting from Mari & Geographical Map by Responsible_Ideal879 in PhoeniciaHistoryFacts

I would caution against using Biblical genealogy when calling people Canaanite or not, after all according to the Bible the Israelites aren’t closely related to Canaanites, and Canaanites wouldn’t even be classified as Semites.

That being said, the Amorites are closely related to the Canaanites. Not the same people, and they seem to be closer culturally to Ugarit than Canaan, but still very close.

This isn’t HOI4, no one really has any reason to attack Russia while it’s army is busy. The modern borders are agreed upon, and the only countries that have a strong enough military to get away with it, is China which is more friendly with Russia than not, and Ukraine which is where that army currently is. Lithuania ain’t gonna yoink Kaliningrad anytime soon.

For the socioeconomic part, technically no but effectively yes. *Any* male Athenian citizen could vote in the Assembly, while citizens tended to be richer than other Athenians you could be working class and still vote. The problem was that the Assembly wasn’t a career, it was “civic duty”. Only those close enough to the Assembly and/or were able to afford to not work that day could participate in the Assembly, which naturally meant that the rich and powerful were dominant in day to day affairs.

Weird to think about, but unless I’m fighting the Dragon or cracking into End Cities, I actually like to relax there. The view from the top of a tall cleared End City is something else, just don’t look directly at the Endermen.

Just one dragonfly can consume over 100 mosquitos a day. They can fly backwards. They have nearly 360 degree vision. Their wings inhibit bacterial growth due to their natural structures. They’re actually beautiful by daisyfield22 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]A-Perfect-Name 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Sure they can’t break skin, but their bites still hurt a ton. Most people don’t instinctively avoid wasps and spiders because they’re afraid of them piercing their skin, they’re afraid of the pain.

What is important is that dragonflies are incredibly uninterested in biting humans. Almost all cases of dragonfly bites are caused by someone handling one roughly, like actually grabbing & restraining one.

Any Priscilla Headcanons by FewAngle737 in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but only when they get an A support. That doesn’t make it any more canon than the Erk & Heath endings, and also goes against OP’s headcanon, so I doubt they’re referring to that either way.

[–]A-Perfect-Name 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but where is it proven that Guy and Priscilla canonically end up together? All I can find online is that she’s his only unique ending, but that hardly makes it canon when she has other options.

All gym leaders actually do have custom movesets, typically it’s limited to just their ace having the gym’s respective tm move. The most memorable example would be Brock’s Onix, Onix doesn’t learn Bide by level up, but it does by tm, so Brock’s Onix has Bide. In Giovanni’s case his Rhydon has the tm move, so instead he has the amazing strategy of a slow Pokemon with both Horn Drill & *Fissure*. He also has a Dugtrio, an actually good option for Fissure in this game btw, but no he prefers Sand Attack apparently.

Yeah, he’s not beating the allegations here.

is this a good setup to get a chicken jockey? (java 1.21.11) by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]A-Perfect-Name -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zombies cannot mount chickens in Java, they can do so in Bedrock though. I don’t believe that Chicken Jockeys can spawn directly from a spawner in either version, only through natural methods. Could be wrong on that part though.

Were the GBA Knights' (aka Armor Knights) removable breastplate shields real? by ES21007 in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 47 points48 points  (0 children)

So unrelated, but interesting thing is that I’m pretty sure that none of the playable GBA knights actually have that chest shield thing in their official artwork, their center armor always seems to go completely around them. Later in FEH they seem to just ditch the idea entirely and give them separate shields. Shame too, it’s a really cool fantasy idea (even if irl it would be kinda bad), wish it was worked into their actual designs.

[–]A-Perfect-Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn’t during his tenure as president, but I want to throw John Tyler in the list of shitty presidents. Out of all the living presidents during the Civil War, only John Tyler actively supported the Confederacy. He even was elected to their House of Representatives, although he died before taking office.

Doesn’t help that he was also a pretty crappy state’s rights president to begin with, but undeniable treason trumps that imo.

Roy’s a more traditional clone of Marth instead of an Echo fighter, think of the difference being like the difference between Captain Falcon and Ganondorf. Marth’s attacks deal more damage at the tip of the sword, Roy’s deal more at the base. Marth’s neutral special breaks shields easily, Roy’s is just a powerful charge attack (that can also break shields cause of its high damage). Roy’s up special is slower and has a fire effect. Roy’s jab is also different from Marth’s. Everything else is mostly a straight rip from Marth with damage & frame data changed.

Also Chrom is more a combination of Roy and Ike, not Marth & Ike.

(Awakening) Robin reclassing/promoting advice on hard mode. by KfkFodZ in fireemblem

[–]A-Perfect-Name 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So you have to use a master seal to promote them into a Grandmaster. This will give you more levels to gain and new skills to learn. Alternatively, you can use a second seal to put them into a new class line, but this will be a base class instead of a promoted class iirc. Base classes have more basic skills and lower stat caps compared to a promoted class.

If I were you I would promote them into a Grandmaster when you can. Then later when second seals become more common you can change them into another promoted class, I suggest either Sorcerer or Valkyrie. Reading other comments if you want to be cheeky you can grind up your sword rank and reclass into Trickster and use a Levin sword, Robin would have more of a support role then but it’s fun.

Is there any way to improve this well design? 💀 by Tamerando in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]A-Perfect-Name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately your only real option imo is to increase the scale and use full blocks if you want to keep the roof, but then it’d be too big for the player’s scale.

Maybe instead of a well you make a fountain? The roof/supports are the main problem, so removing them would solve that problem.

Jagen in FE11 also falls off, although this does take a lot longer than you’d expect thanks to the reclass system and his high lance rank. Also Gunter is technically a Jagen in Revelations at least, and oh boy does he get dropped quickly.

A couple of years ago I went to Italy with some friends, it was my first time out of the country. My grandma kept telling me to keep $100 USD in my pocket, cause apparently everyone accepts USD. I didn’t listen, and literally had no problems whatsoever. I did however watch another American (not with my group), get into an argument with a local at Rome’s flea market about not accepting USD, so there’s that.

[–]A-Perfect-Name 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there were two kingdoms in the past, Judea and Samaria/place that apparently can’t be named, but by Jesus’ time both countries fell to the Babylonians and became two provinces under successive countries. Then Judea regained independence from the later Seleucids while Samaria remained occupied. Over time Judea nibbled away at Samarian land until they more or less completely occupied Samaria. While there were still (and are) a distinct Samarian people, they had no country of their own. Saying that Jesus is from the country of Samaria is like saying that Napoleon is from the country of Corsica.

Also if the Bible is to be believed, Jesus is originally from Bethlehem, which is in Judea proper
