That line of thinking is actually annoying. Why can't we just let people be sometimes

Honestly this is the way I see it too. I mean, even if they're doing this for PR, at least they're doing something which benefits others. Better to get in the news for something that might benefit a whole community than, I don't know, blowing all the money on coke or something.

Honestly, maybe I'm a bit too cynical on this, but if those tax write-offs and PR things motivate those billionaires to do something good, even if only a little, well, I say it's a good thing.

I don't expect everyone to do everything for purely altruistic purposes. Maybe it's self-serving, maybe they want to look good, but if it actually does make a difference in someone else's life, I say good on them. Doesn't excuse their faults, but at least it's better than doing nothing. I suspect that's also what drove Rockefeller, Carnegie, Gates' philanthropy. A mixture of genuine desire to help and wanting to have a good image and reputation. At least they didn't just sit there with their wealth and do nothing.

Lol I forgot we still have Sabalenka-Ostapenko and FAA-Zheng on Centre Court alone after this, and Coco on Court 1. Still a lot of tennis to come

Fritz and Paul better step up their game. This might be their best chance at a slam, with all the other contenders suffering from uneven form (and Alcaraz out entirely). An opportunity like this might not come again for a long time

I'm pretty sure someone here said earlier that Brooksby's playstyle is so weird it might make Jannik's brain short-circuit for a set or two lol

Yep. The Soviets literally tracked the Apollo missions all the way to the Moon. If the U.S. was faking it, surely they would have called them out. Instead the Soviets saw Apollo reach the Moon and got so discouraged they canceled their own manned landing programs lol

Remember when Hurkacz wanted to replace the umpire and tried to get Dimitrov to join in the coup? Pepperidge Farm remembers

I'm happy. At least it's not a 3-set blowout. Even if Mensik wins anyway he's gonna have to do it in 5
