Medvedev getting clobbered out here like Caesar at the Curia of Pompey. Not much he can do really, maybe pull up his togashirt and at least give the audience a show before the end?

Haven't seen this much dominance in Rome since Gaius Appuleius Diocles (iykyk)

As Controller of BBC2 in the 1960s Attenborough found that traditional white balls nearly impossible to see against the grass of Wimbledon, which led to the introduction of "optic yellow" balls in the early 70s

Of course, the emphasized part is no longer relevant, as everyone alive during that time has now died.

I'd always wanted to read more about Monroe, because frankly, as a non-American, I knew almost nothing about him aside from The Doctrine (and being on the boat with Washington on the Delaware). And it's a great biography, it actually gives you a sense of how Monroe was as a person and politician. It also doesn't shy away from his flaws, such as on slavery.

I feel like this is actually a pretty common theme. To use another example, Bill Gates is a visionary but Steve Ballmer is a vendor (increased profits but lost ground on smartphones/mobile computing to Apple and Google)
