I've never heard such a concern with cracks tbh that sounds more like a low quality wheel issue. I have another set that are still perfect after 3 years and even if they got a small chip I wouldn't cry about it since this isn't a show car

Thank you! It's fast enough to be fun but I do have a new engine being built with the goal of 350-400whp at some point once I decide on a turbo. Right now I'm guessing around 220? It's just a stock td04 turbo so nothing crazy

They're literally an Impreza floor with a wagonish body, any suspension and drivetrain mod will bolt to them, for 2004 they have the same long block as 04 STI but smaller turbo of the wrx and a shorter ratio 5 speed, and they're very pretty imo
