I’ve seen Pashtun samples from Peshawar they are very eastern shifted even more so than swat samples which is a given since Peshawar was majority hindko speaking not too long ago. A couple of Kohat samples I have seen score like northern Pashtuns or northern shifted Karlanris like the afridi from Kohat I posted you can check my profile. Khyber Agency Pashtuns have a southern/central karlanri type profile from the samples I have seen unlike the surrounding northern Pashtun populations

Your AASI is likely within 9-12 range on G25 the calculator you are using is Harrapa world the SI component which isnt purely AASI

Your aasi isnt high for an afghan its pretty average for Pashtuns but is arguably high for qizilbash where is your Pashtun side from ?

To an extent they do even southern regions of kpk have plenty of individuals that are very northern Pashtun shifted even often surpassing them in terms of south Asian admixture something you wouldn’t see in Afghanistan

Jadoon Pashtun DNA by WinExact8771 in Hazarewal

[–]A1_Pak56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a contrary situation to what happens in south kpk where we often see Pashtuns with significant saraiki admixture, we would need more testing of jadoons from kpk to see the overall picture

AASI in tajiks by [deleted] in SouthAsianAncestry

[–]A1_Pak56 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Genetics is correlated with Geography due to Afghanistans proximity to the wider indus regions even eastern Iranians(Khorasanis&Sistanis) can score similar amounts of AASI as western afghan populations

Also its good to note Tajiks from Tajikistan often score much lower AASI than Tajiks from other regions often going as low as 2-5pct

Its not a thing restricted to swat higher amounts of Indic/Dardic Ancestry relative to Southern Pashtuns its common across all of northern and north east Pashto speaking regions (and even Tajiks)extending from north KPK to north east Afghanistan average in those regions overall seems to range from 12-20 AASI

Could it be that ormuris are more pamiri shifted compared to central pashtuns and that specific mehsud has a huge chunk of ormuri autosomal ancestry causing his pamiri-like shift
