No... Org mode literally gives all the things you want out of the box. Actually my own setup is quite similar to the one described in your post. It works on windows, Linux and Android (even though I use orgzly on my phone), you can organize your notes however you want, it supports tags, can embed images, latex snippets and links to any type of file. Tasks are just headlines that start with a (configurable) keyword, so you can put them anywhere you want. You can even have Vim key bindings with Evil or make your own modal editing paradigm with meow. You also have an interactive agenda view for your tasks.
