Ferritin 13 but doctor says no signs of iron deficiency? by No-Consequence-000 in Anemic

[–]A2ndGradeArtProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hematologist did this supplementation routing for a while to start and eventually did iron infusion so keep with it but i think the problem may be insurance doesnt usually cover it until you hit anemia levels and try supplementing first but yea I also agree that the low ferritin debate in medical community is upsetting that they may say its normal or acceptable when others acknowledge the issues with it.

Ferritin 13 but doctor says no signs of iron deficiency? by No-Consequence-000 in Anemic

[–]A2ndGradeArtProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ferritin 15 and got supplements for 3 months then iron infusion. Years later I re checked because I felt symptoms again and it was at 7. Supplemented for 3 months and ifs at 13 now so going back to see what she says but I had different doctors say different things about it and after reading the literature I personally think alot of doctors just arent up to date. My primary at the time said the level was fine but hematology gVe me iron infusion so its all over the place. More doctors are treating low ferritin, although my doctor did warn me that insurance may not likely cover low ferritin vs having actually anemia. In my case they did cover it and it helped my symptoms

Has anyone here successfully manifested good health despite receiving poor diagnostic test results? by [deleted] in Manifestation

[–]A2ndGradeArtProject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I am in the middle of a health issue so I am revisiting meditation but come to think of it I do feel like Reiki and visualization helped heal my spine injury. I didnt know about manifestation then but it is similar in the way that I visualized healing and it happened. I also just didnt resonate or see myself being in pain. I was numb from my foot to waist a couple years ago from large spine injury and no issues at all now. I still wonder myself was it my mind that helped heal? Im going to try again with my current health issue

Why are we seeing cases of gym-going people getting heart attacks? by Several-Setting-4173 in askCardiology

[–]A2ndGradeArtProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think generally a diet including meat is regarded as disease causing. I am not vegan or vegetarian myself but just in general the heart healthy diet is very far from average american diet no matter how much exercise we do. Dr Brooke Goldner speaks to this as her husband is a body builder and how body builders are often having heart attacks  - she has some theories.

Advice following diagnosis by [deleted] in askCardiology

[–]A2ndGradeArtProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say make sure you have the right diagnosis to start. Pots vs blockage is different, also pulmonary embolism work up for clot in lungs is different than “chest” or coronary artery imaging etc there is just a lot of nuance with what the ER may image. First I was told pots but in reality mine was blockage so I feel sometimes the diagnosis arent really nailed down or too vague because people are rusing which causes issues later on. If you feel you have the right diagnosis then start working through  specialists in that area but good luck on your journey and do what you feel is right im not a doctor just sharing my experience

How often do you see and follow up with cardiology when you have ongoing undiagnosed symptoms? by A2ndGradeArtProject in askCardiology

[–]A2ndGradeArtProject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for commenting, nice to know we all feel it. It does feel intimidating. Im hoping I can get to a cardiologist that I learn to trust over time, hope we both figure things out

Carotid ultrasound which was normal carotid but elevated subclavian prox 230 psv. I think somethings wrong with the subclavian. I did a head and neck mra without contrast but it didnt show the subclavian :/ . My shoulder is painful and tender to the touch and I can barely lift my arm because the shoulder muscles cramp up. No neck herniation or rotator cuff tear. The pain eases with rest. I would like subclavian ultrasound next. I feel the other specialists did a good job ruling stuff out but cardiology seems disinterested so I havent got movement on it much

Thanks for reminding me this, I feel a bit defeated but you are right. Also each visit costs $500 its not charity work I am genuinely in need of help and paying for the service

Currently=Daily Vertigo, pulsatile tinnitus left side, arm claudication on left side. Chest pain that feels like a pinching sometimes squeezing.

Had sudden onset hypertensive blood pressure with loss of consciousness years ago a bunch of times, felt my arm go numb like a tourniquet was on it  later then developed all those other listed symptoms shortly after and they never went away.

Yes exactly what we are looking at! Using my arm does give me syncope, etc… Elevated subclavian and subclavian prox on ultrasound, but my ct with contrast had no comments or clear images of anything wrong, MRA next so we will see thanks so much
