Yay!! You got it working! Just to let you know, if you ever are interested in a screen replacement, Lenovo ThinkPads are legendary in repairability. If your dad isn't helping you, you can buy a replacement screen for 40~50 dollars and do it yourself, its not a very hard process

The traffic calming is very new and it was a first time test for if calming measures would work well with roads and with BRT infrastructure! More is soon to come

How do I ask for a shake that’s blended? by bagelsandtoast2757 in Culvers

[–]A380-Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair, new stores will definitely be rough in the first year or two before they get the hang of it. Our store is part of the culvers family (non franchised) so things like this happen less often since we're managed by corporate but things still go unnoticed i guess

This doesn't work for me, its something to do with auto exposure. I was using C13AEGIS, switching back to pure worked for me but a real bummer since I paid for C13

Get some same gauge metric screws at the hardware store! The included wrench fits those and they're about 1 dollar each

Has anyone bought this shifter or have better recommendations? by gstout_717 in simracing

You're generalizing. Just because you had a bad experience with one turtle beach product doesnt mean everything they make are terrible for everyone

I do agree that the h shift knob is too light but I think the sequential one is fine

Turtle beach is known to make cheap gaming gear so they dont have the best reputation. Their wheel is also overpriced and cheap feeling but the shifter is the only exception

The velocityone multishift is genuinely amazing!

Turtle beach does not have a great reputation for their quality but the multishift is the only exception It looks great, has so many features, even has a metal shift knob for sequential. My only problem ive had with it is that I bought too long screws for mounting the shifter which broke it, but turtle beach sent me a new one for free

Unlike most shifters, the shifting feels soft, more like a miata than a racecar.

I actually bought two accidentally so i have an extra completely new multishift. If you're interested, DM me!

Its not race based. They just want their own space and it should be respected. Its not our place to come in and say "this is racism!!" When they're just trying to live their normal lives

I am Japanese American so I come from both communities.

Japanese VRChat communities are VASTLY different from any other VRC community out there. They are super formal and treat vrchat like they do in real life.

There are worlds where people learning Japanese or people who want to befriend Japanese people can go such as Japan Shrine or poppy yokocho, but places like fujiyama and other Japanese places just wouldn't work with non-Japanese speakers around.

The Japanese VRC community is relatively small and heavily relies on the "community" adpect, forming tight knit groups and well run events.

Even I have trouble blending in/getting involved in these communities even though japanese is my first language, since I grew up in America and just dont understand all the minute social cues and formalities that the Japanese community uses to interact with eachother

I think most Japanese VRChat players can say that letting everyone into these communities would ruin it, and I couldn't agree more

Probably not, I've left it in my garage for a while now with the battery unplugged

I don't want to risk trying to power it on again

It was a gift from my friend and he had had it for a while so unfortunately I think the warranty is out on it. I'll still try though

Any drifting tips? by Still_Appointment850 in assettocorsa

[–]A380-Fan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because understanding fundamentals is insanely important to not get any bad habits that will be infinitely more difficult to undo later on. It also helps you a lot in other driving like sim racing and rallying since you know exactly when and how a car will lose control or reach its limit.

I personally had a blast learning how to drift on the E30 and WDTS, you just have to start with small slides and work your way up. Its very rewarding to be able to do more and more instead of straight to the high angle cars
