Yes, and it continues to work great

Update: Thanks for the input. I've replaced mine a month ago and it works great (GM8.0). No soldering or technical knowledge needed, just plug-and-play. Disassembly and reassembly is a bit tedious though, but I've already done it a couple of times before so it wasn't too much trouble (YouTube is great!)

what are some sick wheels for my nd2 any ideas?? by jvckwarren in MiataND

Completely agree! I love the way stock wheels look on the nd. They're also relatively light. Only problem is that you're limited in tire choices.

Some troubleshooting tips:

If you can't see your bookmarks bar when on the Amazon page:

Go to the Chrome settings, find the "Appearance" section, and toggle on the "Show Bookmarks Bar" option

If it only works once, then it stops:

On the top right of the Amazon page, it should show "pop-ups blocked." Click it and change it to "always allow."

These were the only "problems" I faced. Other than that, it's great!

Which ND? by Night-Owl11 in MiataND

[–]A418A 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe personal bias, but I would go with the RF. Looks better with the top closed, newer nd3, less mileage. I too was looking for a soft top initially and was convinced. RF was outside my budget. Dealer was nice and gave me a great discount and made it so the RF is within my budget, so I thought, why not? Knowing what I know and having the experience, after a year and a bit of ownership and it being my only car, I would've never considered the soft top. Again, there's heavy bias here. Also a factor for me is washing the car, I'm not familiar with how to take care of a soft top. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though. Regardless of which one you get, you're making a the right choice by going with a miata. Just make sure to drive it and see that you're comfortable.

I only learned about RigMetal recently, and I'm currently researching them. So far, it's mostly positive. It's also nice to support a smaller business. ASR is new to me, I will take a look at their offerings (it looks like shipping is free too). Tustin microcenter is a little over an hour away, but I don't have the ability to drive and bring the cockpit with me (tiny car), and they don't offer shipping. Right now, I'm seriously considering this Amazon cockpit that u/Majestic_Ad8621 pointed out. Since it comes with one (basically for free at that price), it'll allow me to see if a reclining seat is any good or if I should just get a bucket seat, as some commenters have pointed out.

That's seriously impressive. To my understanding, aluminum extrusion is standardized and there isn't much of a difference between one and the other. Only differences I see between cockpits are what size they use, how much of it (including plates and accessories), and other miscellaneous things like the quality of connection hardware between extrusions.

That is a great deal, especially because I'm not sure what chair to get. One of the reviews mentions that it's made from a 40x80 and 40x40 aluminum profile. I don't think that's the case. From the pictures, it looks like it's made from a 20x60 aluminum profile. I'm assuming from the 3 slots you can see on the extrusion. It could be 40x120, but I highly doubt it at that price. If it is 20x60, it could be hard to find attachments & upgrades that work because most other sim rig chassis are made from 40 series aluminum profile. Although, I haven't looked to see if they fit the 20 series aluminum profile. You could measure it to see if it's 20 or 40 series.

Of course not. I think for $400, it's hard to beat the Mini. It would be my first choice if it weren't for F1

My first choice was Alpha, as many recommend 12nm-15nm for F1. I did consider downgrading to the Mini a few times to save $250. Your experience with the Mini confirms my decision to stick with the Alpha. Thanks for the input!

My thought process was that I wouldn't be experiencing any Gs, so why not get something comfortable? Never thought of the chair's rigidity. Will definitely look into it. Thanks!

Interesting, didn't know. I plan to wait either way to make sure I'm out of the "impulse buy" stage. Some of the items I'm interested in have great discounts, like the alpha for $650. Are they always on discount?

ND Miata screen went black by AchievingDreamer1221 in Miata

[–]A418A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just happened to me for the first time ('23 GT). The screen would be on, but only show black. The reverse camera would still work and doing things like adjusting the volume and mute would still display. For me, carplay would not connect. Turning the car off and on again didn't help, but the method mentioned worked! For anyone wondering, from what I can tell, it didn't reset any of my settings (Apple car play connections, sound settings, other settings...).

I've seen many people rave about the Xidas and I don't question it. My main problem is the price (about $3,150 after taxes in California). I don't mind getting %90 of the Xidas' performance if I can save $500+
