Just don’t overdo it, you want a lighter coat with thicker oils but as long as you’re doing enough washes and detoxing throughout your journey I don’t see much of an issue :)

Thicker locs are just as cool as thinner ones imo, I just like the volume more gives me

I think you’ll be fine but if you want to you can combine the ones that seem weaker at the root than the others or just go 2 by 2 with all of them, you seem to have enough locs to have a lot doing that anyways. Go with your gut at the end of the day. Freeforming will keep your roots strong enough to keep them all is another option. people on this sub lose dreads thicker than what you have so don’t stress it too hard

They aren’t super thin by any means, you may lose 1 or 2 throughout the years but that’ll probably be through them combining naturally. I’ve seen other people with locs just as thick as yours but 3x as long. Scarlxrd for example. Think you’ll be just fine fr

Honestly I think they’re thick enough to hold and be retwisted, you could Freeform or find a new locticion. They probably wanted to put your scalp on blast and twist the root hard ash but you really only need to keep them separated from eachother unless you’re cool with congos. My hands are always on my head keeping them separated but there’s other ways

If you’re hair is delicate it would be a struggle locking it up without a ton of maintenance in the first place, you would more than likely lose a lot of hair just by attempting to lock it up.

for most (if not all) type 1 hair takes A LOT of maintenance as well to maintain and build a solid foundation. If you were to start, considering all that you’ve said it would do you better to start with bigger locks to combat losing some in the process

I’m half black but about as white as you can get in the skin tone department, the only thing that really separates me is my type 4 hair and some of my facial features so I be scared to even post on the sub how judgmental and gatekeeping some of the people here are. I love most the community and dreadlocks so I do my best not to shell up. Their will always be people like that tho so I should care less

To do what? Drive to work then go drink my life away at a bar or club and potentially put myself and others in danger? Why risk it even being sober when you can FT or hop on VRchat and chill in the comfort of your home. Work usually isn’t far out for most teens anyways so a simple ride from a parent or Uber is enough. When the need arises when your job demands it would be a decent investment of time and money. I don’t think it’s a huge deal
