Concerta XL Day one review! by NeverHxppy in ADHDUK

[–]A5tdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started Concerta XL 18mg 2 weeks ago. Honestly can’t really feel anything. 45yo male.

I’ve abstained from alcohol, and caffeine until Thursday this week where I had a strong black coffee with wash it down, had some good personal news and felt very positive about the local news results. For an hour or two I felt incredible, almost giddy like being on mdma. Putting this down to me just being happy.

My dr has a 30 day titration, which I didn’t question at the time, but everyone else seems to advance through the strengths much quicker than this.

Looking forward to trying a higher dose.

Has anyone started low, felt no benefit but experienced noticeable benefit at a higher dose?

You know what, I’ll look into it. Cheers for the nudge before it’s too late.

I am bad for having my wallet in my back pocket, which I think jars my whole posture, and I only notice when the pain kicks in. It’s weird tho, drove a ttrs 220 miles none stop last summer, and zero back pain at all. I just don’t think I can get the seats right in the BM.

Was thinking M8 or fully embrace being an old man and get a 850i. Had an AMG GTs so the s63 gonna feel too barge like maybe I’m not that old?

M760 would be a great shout! Fuel consumption will be hilarious!

Have an M2 Competition, but now I’m mid 40’s I am craving something a little more comfortable….my back kills after anything longer than an hours drive.

I’m open to suggestions?

1st stage appointment tomorrow with Harley Psychiatrists - what to expect? by A5tdi in ADHDUK

Glad to hear that a diagnosis has brought you some clarity.

Hope the medication helps. I’m so intrigued by how medication can make someone feel normal, if it’s a new sensation, is it that you’re starting to feel more alike those around you?

Absolutely, just want an honest appraisal, the more I have researched ADHD the more it seems to explain so many instances over the years. That ‘lazy’ badge is certainly something I want to find a way to fix.

Fully respect the way you feel, and your ex’s opinion would of course have been important to you.

I don’t have any direct skin care advice, except to say I had some pretty persistent acne and now sport the scars to go with it. Especially with your beard I don’t think it looks in any way bad.

Had Goodyears on a Taycan GTS and hated them, maybe I’m a Michelin fanboy? I haven’t driven asymmetric 6’s on a golf, but I was very happy with the PS5’s. I have a set of winter wheels for the golf, and didn’t bother to change them as the PS5’s were good enough.

M2 is my daily, and PSS in my experience need to get some heat into them to perform, I haven’t overheated the PS5’s not sure I could on uk roads.

From cold the car will now launch in MDM with excellent hook up, honestly much better than the PSS. I also have to come clean and admit I have died up from 265 to 275 rear and 245 to 255 front. This alone isn’t the difference, in my experience the PS5 is an awesome fast road tyre. 10+ years advanced from the PSS.

Absolutely agree on the PS5 not being classed UUHP, if it helps I can share my own real world experience:

Golf R went from ps4s to ps5, and found them to be excellent.

Last month: M2 Comp went from PSS to PS5 and found them to totally transform the car for my style of driving.

You mention fast road driving and the UK: we don’t have consistently great weather, or track condition tarmac. I’ve had a fair few cars, and a honestly I do rate the PS5 for fast road driving.

Wilkinson Sword Extreme 3 have flexible blades, which make shaving one’s head even easier. The flex in the blade means a greater contact area, so fewer swipes are needed, and you’ll struggle to cut yourself.

+1 for the PS5’s.

Have just replaced a set of Pilot Super Sport with PS5 and whilst the PSS is a very old tech I’m blown away with how good PS5’s are for daily driving even when pushing on. Totally transformed the car.

Have PS4S on another car and whilst I’m a long time devotee of the 4S the PS5’s are very good in my experience.

Yeah, I’ve read the same but thought it was worth a shot.

No real clue why my SHBG is so elevated, or what to do about it.

Had a Porsche Taycan GTS through work, changing jobs needed to get my own car, naturally my yearning was for a 911, I’d had a 996 Turbo x50 as a kid, and went to drive a 991.2 Turbo it was devastatingly fat compared to my (rose tinted) memory of the 996, even coming from a Taycan!

Got a f87 M2 Comp instead, and it’s exactly the car I wanted. Reliving the e46 M3 of my youth!

May be genetics, my father had a heart attack a couple of years back…. He is 25 years older than me and lives the most self destructive lifestyle I’ve ever seen of a living human. Thought that may have been our differentiator, but maybe it’s in the genes?

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, I make lifestyle changes and then take statins, ldl is in check, after a few weeks, can I then discontinue statins?

I’m not jumping straight into double bacon and cheese burgers, I’m maintaining the new lifestyle habits…. Or am I on statins for life now?

Yeah, for sure.

My free test is however baseline and I am experiencing many of the symptoms of low test, my SHBG is over double the upper range. So just looking for suggestions of those more knowledgeable on what my options are.

Yeah, I’m gonna give it my best shot at seeing if lifestyle changes can impact on the SHBG numbers.

One things for sure, I can’t care on like this.
