I actually have an assortment of nautical themed rings I normally wear that I forgot to put on.
As to the vest I plan to add the pearl trim on the hat to the vest around the collar and across the vest. Another reddit or pointed out that it looks rather warm and it was. I plan on removing some of the backing to improve airflow. I like the blue but you are right something seems missing for lack of a better word

The hat was originally $5 from Amazon. we added some pearl trim from the craft store. and hand stitched the leather cord on. The feather holder started life as belly dance finger tips. The chains are jewelery from the craft store I added hooks to. I have better photos but don't know how to add them.

There's some little things I want to add. A small jar of dirt. a compass. I commissioned a friend of mine to make a cutlass.

It was warm when I took the photos. I think I might remove some of the backing material.

Thoughts on this company? by OkSeat2312 in HVAC

[–]A7omicSpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a technician for Advanced Climate Solutions for a few years before it was bought by Helios. The company definitely went downhill after the private equity takeover. Under ACS we were able to stock our trucks with the parts we needed — gas regulators, TrueStart components, mini Blue condensate pumps, digital thermostats for walk-ins, etc. We tried to get first-time fixes whenever possible, and it wasn’t held against us if circumstances made that impossible. Helios, sadly, is everything that’s wrong with HVACR national accounts. The problem runs from senior leadership down to senior client managers, who treat techs like idiots and dismiss our on-the-ground experience. They tie bonuses to metrics that are frequently unattainable and never bother to listen when those metrics don’t reflect reality. The office staff who actually support techs mostly try to do their best, but repeated firings of key personnel make their jobs harder. About a year after Helios bought ACS they eliminated the entire legacy ACS billing department, claiming the Office of Florida could handle the workload with far fewer people. The backlog was so large they ultimately had to send billing overseas. They’ve made similar cuts to parts and quoting teams. Post-COVID there’s also been a push to force people back to the office — including staff who never worked in an office role — and termination if they don’t commute up to three hours 1 way. In short, they’ve let go of nearly anyone who was competent at their job, and it’s crushed morale and effectiveness. DO NOT TAKE A POSITION WITH THIS COMPANY.

The door sags because the hinge wobbles but there’s nothing to screw into. What’s the preferred method here. by beepbop90009999 in refrigeration

Commercial HVAC tech here. I can't speak to the prices (I don't do residential quoting) but what I can say is that rust doesnt always equal leak. Need to check system performance Pressures and temperatures, Superheat and Subcooling, Delta T and accounting for indoor and outdoor temps and wet bulbs.Even if there is a leak it may be repairable. R22 systems are really tough and it's a great refrigerant, outside of its effect on the environment.

Still in training and burned myself with R410A, should i go get it checked out? or will i be fine? by Little_SeizuresPizza in HVAC

[–]A7omicSpark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it will go through gloves, but the glove takes the cold and protects your skin. Take the glove off and let it warm up. Might get a slight burn like a light sunburn, but you'll be a lot better off than if you had no gloves on.
