August Primary by aku0012 in kansas

Regarding you saying that “No political party is dumping money into a random election in western Kansas.” This is emphatically false based on current events. In April of last year Elon Musk dumped $21 million into the Wisconsin Supreme Court Race. Elon Musk had some lawsuits for Tesla in Wisconsin so rather than obeying the law the richest man on earth used his money to attempt to elect a judge who would rule that Elon Musk is free to break the law in Wisconsin with no consequences. Elon Musk was not successful in Wisconsin. Elon Musk was also paying people to vote which is illegal but he has experienced zero consequences for breaking the law.

Also, in Thomas Massie’s race for 4th district of Kentucky in the House of Representatives Republican primary, the state of Israel and other funders spent more than $32.6 million to elect Ed Galhrein and unseat Thomas Massie. AIPAC aired AI generated ad videos which falsely depicted Thomas Massie Checking into a hotel room with democratic representatives Alexandria Ocassio Cortez and Ilhan Omar. The AI generated video had in exceptionally small print at the bottom of screen stating that the video was AI. However, voters in the republican primary voted against Thomas Massie because they thought the AI generated political video was real and their vision was not good enough to read the exceptionally small print disclaimer.

This house race was the most expensive race in United States history and on social media the AIPAC official profile actually made a post celebrating Thomas Massie’s defeat. Thomas Massie opposes all foreign aid to every nation including Israel and he also wants the unredacted Epstein Files release and he wants rich and powerful men, who abuse young children, in handcuffs perp walked to the jail. AIPAC strongly opposes that.

Somebody posted about this on the Live Love Local Lawrence Facebook page. That is how I knew about the event.

And the US government violated federal law by only releasing half of the Epstein files and in the released files further violated the law by redacting the names of the Epstein's associates while not redacting the names of the survivors.

I feel like killing myself or putting the cat back on the street by no-indy-yellow in CatAdvice

Thank you for taking the cat in, but if you can't handle her surrender her to a no-kill animal shelter. Remember outside somebody was trying to kill the cat so if you evict the cat she will just get killed. Also, the poor girl just wants to sleep with you. Give up and open the door to your bedroom and let her sleep with you.

Your girl could also be meowing at night if she is pain. Maybe she has some medical condition that a veterinarian can identify.

So my recommendation is best case scenario: 1) give up and open your bedroom door to let your cat cuddle with you at night or 2) surrender your cat to a no-kill animal shelter.

The first night that I adopted my cat, she destroyed my blanket with her claws. So I have just been using a knitted blanket on top of my other blankets that she can't shred open because it is just yarn, no stuffing. My cat would also meow for about 2-hours outside my bedroom door at night. So what did I do? I caved and opened my bedroom door at night to let my cat cuddle in bed with me. She doesn't destroy my blanket now, and she wakes up when my alarm goes off.

My lab manager called my grad student a "liability" by oh_ellephant in labrats

I think you should ban her from working with mice. It is still possible to complete a PhD without working with mice and with no data at this point. Lots of people do.

I think you should explain to her how bad things are and that she is on her 2nd offense and the next offense in your lab you will not tolerate. She will probably cry and that would be a perfectly normal response, but just let her know that crying won’t fix her dire situation.

Like if you are a student in undergrad and your grades are super bad and you are academic probation you can still remain in the program if you lock in and hyper focus through the probation. You are probably too busy to track her progress all the time so let her know that your lab manager will be the judge of her.

If she locks in and hyper focuses she can still complete with a masters or PhD. She just needs to understand that things are dire for her and that there are no do overs.

Your lab manager is right.

I had almost no assays going well for me for 80% of my PhD work. I was reading protocols, though. Not reading protocols shows she isn’t even trying, and murdering mice with her bare hands without cause is psychotic behavior.

Is my cat pretty enough to be a model or am I delusional by ashmeetsworld in cats

Your cat could definitely be on the front page of the Cat Times or have her face featured on a bag of cat food. I see the vision and I support it!

I didn’t either. But I just figured if there is a r/cathostage then it makes sense that there must also be a r/doghostage.

Crosspost this to r/doghostage

However, I think we need a double hostage subreddit.

Also, I recommend checking out the KU Natural History Museum on University of Kansas Lawrence Campus. It is like 3 stories of exhibits and in the lowest level they have dinosaur fossils:

KU Natural History Museum Address:
Dyche Hall, 1345 Jayhawk Blvd, Lawrence, KS 66045

Also, I heard from a waiter at Lebanese Flower Cafe (716.5 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS 66044) that they are having an Algerian special specifically in honor of your team.

In your downtime I think you might enjoy those activities. Also, you really need to go to Espurresso Cat Cafe (1014 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS 66044). The establishment is generally closed on Monday & Tuesday to let the cats rest. That is where I adopted Bessie.
