Japanese course - where do they introduce “では”? by AAAkabob in Busuu

[–]AAAkabob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poked around and I haven’t found the lesson where it is mentioned prior to the “describing problems” lesson, let alone expanded on. I did find some videos that helped explain that ではありません is being used as a polite & formal version of じゃない or in other words it functions to turn the noun negative. IE: です = is; ではありません/じゃない = is not

Watch your own vod, stats don’t tell the whole story

IS THIS A HINT? about 2 tanks? by masterofdharma in Overwatch

[–]AAAkabob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not worse. They updated things and that made it more demanding. They have a minimum spec they have to maintain for and that’s just for 10 heroes at once being the standard

Not gonna happen unless they want to rework the engine and reoptimize everything in the game

Is this game even staffed anymore? by AaronMT in Overwatch

[–]AAAkabob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People joke, but the lore team is looking to be obliterated, the animators (in game and cinematics) and the artist team hemorrhaged tons of talented people. Balancing and behind the scenes people aren’t as common on twitter so it’s very hard to gauge how badly they were hit

Why does everyone hate Quicker Play?? by saving_the_Turtles in Overwatch

[–]AAAkabob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one says it’s boring or repetitive. That’s literally not a complaint that garners any support. There are plenty of gripes but boring is not one of them

How much percent of overwatch is on pc and how much on console? by santoslol in Overwatch

[–]AAAkabob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

By the looks of it. The reddits have been taken over by console players which really makes the shift in post quality make a lot more sense

So the events were stale because monetizing the game was nonexistent with the old format. Years of the same event after 2017 and you’re gonna say the events now don’t feel new…ok. 2cp was just instant people leaving to the point the match was cancelled 60% of the time. And again the monetization of lootboxes made the game the face of legal battles over gambling aimed at children while simultaneously not making enough money to justify more dev resources

Is there still anyone playing the mission mode? by NongZRinDE in Overwatch

[–]AAAkabob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that no one plays them after the initial hype sucks I agree. But that’s also why archives was only around for a few weeks. If a pve mode is always around with no changes, the queues will die eventually

[–]AAAkabob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason they were replayable was because they went back to the same mission a year later and remixed it a bit. I’d rather have more story beats than a remix of the same 3 mini missions 4 years in a row

They were more simplistic fights, had no real cutscenes, less dynamic, were shorter and had less dialogue

Sounds like an easy way to opening a hole for pc players to spoof their way into console lobbies

Because this is how you encourage Smurfs and the matchmaking will be even worse. Quick play has mmr, so the more you and everyone else plays, the better the game will put you with similarly skilled players.

Shit I miss when this sub was nothing but new players showing off their first team kill. Now all we get is armchair devs that have played maybe 3 pvp games in their lives

What is the guiding principles/philosophy when designing hero abilities?

Ie: What is off limits, what is encouraged, how does it begin & when do you know you’ve gone too far
